Indian cinema incurred a huge loss last week as veteran actor Rishi Kapoor breathed his last on 30th From Rishi’s wife Neetu to daughter Riddhima, the Kapoor family is grieving the loss while fondly remembering the beautiful times that they spent with the superstar.
Quite commendably on her part, Neetu has been maintaining a quiet strength and poise as she grieves the loss of the love of her life. Neetu has been posting pictures of her late husband with heartfelt captions as she expresses her gratitude for all those who stood with the family in the testing times.
Earlier today, Neetu shared an image on Instagram and recollected Rishi’s two-year-long battle with cancer in the caption. “For us, as a family, the last two years have been a long journey
There were good days, there were a couple of bad days too.. needless to say it was full of high emotion,” she wrote.
In the caption, Neetu also thanked the Ambani family for all their support in the difficult journey. She shared, “But it’s a journey we would not have been been able to complete without the immeasurable love and support of the Ambani family. As we’ve gathered our thoughts over the past few days we’ve also tried to find the words to express the gratitude we feel towards the family for the countless ways in which they have seen us safely through this time.”
She further added, “Over the last seven months every member of the family has gone above and beyond in every way possible to care for our beloved Rishi and ensure he experienced as little discomfort as possible. From ensuring he was medically attended to, to making frequent, personal visits to the hospital to shower him with love and attention, to even holding our hand and comforting us when WE were scared. To Mukesh Bhai , Nita Bhabhi, Akash, Shloka, Anant, and Isha – you have been our guardian angels on this long and trying experience – what we feel for you can not be measured.”

Just a day ago, Neetu had taken to Instagram to thank the medical staff that had attended to Rishi in his last days. “As a family we have a deep sense of loss.. when we sit together and look back at the past few months what we also feel is immense gratitude – gratitude towards the doctors at HN reliance hospital! The whole team of doctors, brothers and nurses headed by Dr Tarang Gianchandani treated my husband like he was their own – they advised us like we were their own.. and for all that and more I thank them from the bottom of my heart,” she wrote.

A couple of days after her husband’s demise, Neetu had also shared an adorable picture of the yesteryear actor with a brief albeit heartfelt caption. “End of our story ❤️❤️,” she wrote, and thus said so much about their memorable journey together without writing too many words.
Henry Wadsworth Longfellow once rightly summarised the pain of death and what it does to those who see it happening to their loved ones, as he wrote, “It is they who stay behind that suffer.” Isn’t that the bitter truth of life? We wish Neetu Kapoor unyielding strength in this tough time!
