Nayanthara & Vignesh Shivan’s Love Story Is Truly Beyond Fairytales

Known as South Indian cinema’s ‘Lady Superstar,’ actress Nayanthara recently released a Netflix documentary titled Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairytale, which offers a heartfelt glimpse into her life. Among the many highlights, it’s her beautiful love story with her husband, Vignesh Shivan, that has truly captured our hearts.

1. When She First Saw Vignesh

Nayanthara and Vignesh’s story began on the sets of Naanum Rowdy Dhaan, directed by Vignesh. In the documentary, Nayanthara shared how her feelings shifted during the shoot in Pondicherry. While observing Vignesh directing Vijay Sethupathi, she couldn’t help but see him in a new light. She said, “I don’t know, for some strange reason, all of a sudden, I looked at him differently.” She admitted her first thought was, “He’s a cute guy.” His calm demeanor and unique approach to filmmaking left her captivated, and she began to see more than just a director.

2. Vignesh’s Perspective

Vignesh, on the other hand, initially admired “Nayan Ma’am” for her talent and professionalism. Over time, however, he discovered a deeper connection between them. Their conversations grew more meaningful, and their mutual understanding blossomed into a beautiful relationship.

3. The Wedding of Their Dreams

On June 9, 2022, Nayanthara and Vignesh tied the knot in a grand ceremony in Mahabalipuram. The event was attended by prominent film industry personalities, including Shah Rukh Khan, Rajinikanth, AR Rahman, Suriya, Vijay Sethupathi, and Atlee, among others. 

Then on Sept 22, 2022, the couple welcomed twin boys, Uyir RudroNeel N Shivan and Ulag Daiwik N Shivan, via surrogacy. Interestingly, the ‘N’ in their names stands for their mother, Nayanthara.

Nayanthara and Vignesh’s story is nothing short of a modern fairytale—proving that love can truly flourish in the most unexpected ways.
