Rain Alert: This Monsoon-Friendly Skincare Routine Will Save Your Skin On A Rainy Day

Isn’t it annoying when your skin begins to act strangely every time the seasons change? Remember the times your skin is just so buried in dirt and grime that all you want to do is carry a portable shower around; or the times when your pores suddenly go into rebel mode and refuse to obey any form of reasonable instructions? We relate. Skin-wise, the Indian monsoons can be rather damaging. There is no need to be surprised when you add abundant tufts of pollution that cry “No Escape” to a semi-summer, semi-rainy climate. But to fend off skin baddies during the monsoon, we’ve jotted down a step-by-step skincare routine for all skin types. Read on!

Here’s An Elaborate Skincare Routine For Monsoons

Step 1: Get Cleansing

What’s stopping you from having perfect skin this monsoon? The answer is excessive oil excretion. Charge through with a deep cleansing and oil-controlling face wash that not only refreshes but also leaves your skin feeling soft and kissable.

Step 2: Exfoliation Is Key

Your pores require a delicate but thorough scrubbing every three or four days. A gentle yet exfoliating scrub is the perfect companion for this. Monsoons are humid, unpredictable, and your skin accumulates a lot of dust during this time. A good scrub will provide a much-needed resurrection to your skin.

Step 3: Clay Mask FTW

A purifying clay mask should be part of your daily skincare routine for glowing skin during the monsoon. Its rich, creamy formula glides smoothly on the face and extracts debris from your pores in less than 10 minutes. If the monsoon has dulled your complexion, a clay mask is just what you need to restore its natural radiance.

Step 4: Tone It Up

Even though using this product is essential for having good skin, somehow it is still the least appreciated skincare product. Following a face wash, you must immediately use toner. One spritz of toner can minimise large pores, restore the pH balance of the skin, provide an additional shield against damage, and stop ingrowths. When it comes to a toner, a little goes a long way.

Step 5: Lock In All The Moisture

It would be a dream come true, to be able to hydrate without making your skin weigh ten thousand pounds. Particularly if you are assured of having hydrated, sun-protected, silky, and smooth skin. Using a lightweight, gel-based moisturiser will make sure your skin is hydrated enough during the monsoon. This oil-free gel is appropriate for all skin care routines, whether they are for combination skin, skin that tends to breakout, or even dry skin.

Step 6: SPF = BFF

After the moisturiser has been absorbed into your skin, apply a decent sunscreen (the most important step). Any water-resistant sunscreen with SPF 30 (more the better) that provides UVA & UVB protection (broad spectrum) is ideal for the rainy season. Its water-resistant formulation will keep your skin protected against harmful UV rays even if you get drenched in the rain.

There you have it — follow these steps to get flawless, enviable skin.
