After multiple sexual harassment charges against music composer Anu Mallik, controversies now seem to be looming on the people around him as well. This time, it is his co-judge on Indian Idol Season 11, Neha Kakkar, who has been slammed. And by none other than Tanushree Dutta, the actress who brought the #MeToo revolution to India.
Tanushree has not only slammed Sony TV, the carrier of the reality show, for reinstating Anu Malik as the show’s judge replacing Sona Mohapatra (who was one of the women to accuse Malik of sexual misconduct) but has also called out Neha for her silence on the allegations against her co-judge.

During an interview with a leading news portal, Tanushree expressed her disappointment and concern on the same. She said, “What shocks me most is how Sony, which is supposed to be a family-friendly channel, has allowed such a person to remain as a judge when several talented and high-profile women have come forward with their stories of harassment against him. Are TRPs more important than human values? Shouldn’t people who misbehave be held accountable for their deeds.”
Tanushree further slammed Neha while mentioning how the Aankh Marey singer was herself forcibly kissed by a fan. “She might have got a taste of what it feels like to be harassed when a contestant forcibly kissed her on the show. But again, like her decision to work with Anu Malik, Neha decided not to press charges on the disgusting guy! It was cringeworthy to watch a female celebrity being mauled like that on TV”, said the Aashiq Banaya Aapne actress.
Her reaction comes days after Malik posted an open letter denying all the harassment allegations against him. “Being a father of two daughters, I can’t imagine committing the acts that I am accused of, let alone do it,” he had written in the letter on social media.
The much-renowned music composer of Bollywood has been accused of sexual misconduct by various artists from the industry like Sona Mohapatra, Shweta Pandit, Caralisa Monteiro, Alisha Chinai and most recently Neha Bhasin. Before Tanushree Dutta, it was Sona Mohapatra who had slammed Sony TV for bringing him back despite such serious accusations against him.
