There’s been a cascading effect and a revolution of sorts in India over the past few days with Indian Twitter taking down powerful men who have used their clout and influence to silence women all these years. Tanushree Dutta opened up and said #MeToo and alleged that Nana Patekar sexually harassed her ten years ago. After that, allegations against Queen director sexually abusing a Phantom Films employee and being inappropriate with Kangna also crept up. Late last night, another director opened up about her harrowing rape at the hands of the ‘sanskaari’ Aloknath.
In the midst of all this controversy, a video has surfaced online of an NDTV reporter asking Salman Khan if he has ever hit a woman. This was during the time when Aishwarya Rai and Salman Khan were seeing each other. However, their relationship hit rock bottom when Ash revealed that he would abuse her and even physically assaulted her once.
She had earlier reported saying, “He would call me and talk rubbish. He also suspected that I was having affairs with my co-stars. There were times when Salman got physical with me, luckily without leaving any marks and I would go to work as if nothing happened. That is why, like any other self-respecting woman, I ended my relationship with him.”
In this old video that has resurfaced, the journalist asks him clearly about the allegations that were made against him and what he said will make your blood boil.
Yes, Salman actually replied saying, “Yeah, now that woman has said that I have. I mean there was a journalist Prabhu Chawla who asked me this long time ago, so I just banged the table he got startled, the table nearly broke. I mean, if I hit somebody, it’s obviously a fight, I am going to be angry. I am going to whack and give it my best shot. I don’t think she would’ve survived it.”
We’ve heard too many explanations about why a man might not have committed a crime, but this happens to be one of the most unbelievable ones.
