Do celebs sometimes get exhausted just by a mere mention of big red carpet events? We ask because it looks like a lot of work. They spend weeks and months pinning down the final look. Then hours are dedicated to getting it right on the D-day. Oh, and if the pressure of looking their best on the red carpet wasn’t enough, it is followed by the celeb-hosted after parties. Just thinking about it sounds exhausting. Doesn’t it? However, it looks like the red carpet divas are built different. Case in point—the epic Met Gala 2022 after-party looks that the celebs served right after a taxing red carpet event.
After romanticising the past in a ‘Gilded Glamour’s dress code, the celebs decided to go contemporary chic for their after-party looks. From sheer dresses to colour-pop minis, they gave us some noteworthy trends while they were at it. Here are some of the most stunning after-party looks with a subtle peppering of those that had us saying “what’s that”. Scroll down to see what we are talking about:
Blake Lively Being The Queen That She Is
Determined to not break her winning red carpet streak, Blake Lively showed up for the Met Gala after-party in a stunning bejewelled number. The maroon leather mini featured a scalloped hem nicely accentuated with black tassels. She finished off with a messy bun and gave us yet another winning look from the evening.
Olivia Rodrigo Making Up For Her Red Carpet Miss
While Olivia might have struggled to grab much attention with her lilac red carpet look, her bold gingham-inspired dress more than made up for it. We loved the red-pink contrast, the strategic embellishments, and the waist flossing detail.
Hailey Bieber Doing What She Does Best
Some call Hailey’s style predictable, we call it effortless. It is always neat, classic silhouettes and neutral hues for the model and they work like a charm. Staying loyal to the aesthetics, the actress slipped into a Saint Laurent triangle top and micro leather cut-offs for the party. She topped the look with an oversized blazer and the coolest thing is that it will always be badass.
Kacey Musgraves Turning Them All Green
Kacy continued her slaying spree in a statement Moschino set that featured a chequered crop top, matching mini, and a trench coat. Chunky green heels were added to further highlight the hue and this is easily one of the best looks from Met after-parties.
Laura Harrier In Her Fresh Lavender Fit
Laura had our attention for her glitzy lavender mini that featured a cowl neck and gathered full sleeves. Fresh and how!
Karlie Kloss Eating That After-Party Aesthetic
Normally, we do not go gaga after floor-sweeping gowns in award show after-parties but this one is different. Karlie slipped into a décolletage-baring baby blue Givenchy gown for the Met after-party. The sheer outfit was a statement in itself and we stan how Karlie gave it a life of its own with her smokey eyes and studded bucket bag.
Emily Ratajkowski Going Full OTT
NGL, we have our reservations about this look. Mostly because there’s just too much going on with that lime dress. However, we def love the contrast that Emily’s fuchsia heels are adding to the look.
Kendell Jenner Giving Rachel Green
Remember when Rachel Green in Friends ended up meeting her boyfriend’s parents in a hot négligée and then went on acting like it was the next big trend? Yup, looks like it is finally catching up. Kendall Jenner’s after-party fit is proof enough. Now the question is if we are on board. Well, there is something about this sheer co-ord set that does not sit well with us. We are open to smarter iterations though.
Kylie Jenner Disappointing Us For The Second Time In a Day
All we gotta say is that Kylie went underdressed on the red carpet and overdressed at the after-party. This entire Off-White partnership is clearly not working out for her.
Bella Hadid Missing It Big Time
Bella was in a gothic mood yesterday. She made it clear with her boudoir look for the after-party in a custom Dilara Findìkoglu top and sheer lingerie-inspired tights. Do we like this look? Nope. Do you want more celebs to try the trend? A hell yes!
Kim K Playing By The Instructions Of Her PR Team
The toughest thing about being a Kim K stan? It is hard to tell when she is doing something for herself and when she is doing it for the camera. Yesterday, she had the internet divided on her iconic dress that asked for a huge sacrifice. Apparently, Kim had to shed 16 pounds in three weeks to fit into the dress, something that she accepted openly in a media interaction. However, after the event, she was seen heading home dressed in a comfy sweat set and a mink coat. Oh, did we mention that there were pizzas and doughnut boxes in sight? Kim’s PR team really knows how to make up for the damage!
Tell us fam, which one of these Met after-party looks did you like the most?
