Mallika Dua Is Being Called Out For Her Rant On Influencers Attending Cannes

The 2023 Cannes Films Festival belongs to Indian influencers! Every day on the red carpet, an Indian social media star is making heads turn. While I am over the moon seeing all the representation, not everyone feels the same way. Recently, actor-comedian Mallika Dua had something to say about influencers who made their way to Cannes this year.

Without naming anyone, Mallika wrote, “Ek hafte self proclaimed influencer ka bad fashion, bad bakwaas and zabardasti ka gratitude jhelna padega at Cannes FILM festival. Rabba. (For a week, I’ll have to bear these self-proclaimed influencers’ bad fashion, bad gibberish and forced gratitude at the Cannes Film Festival. Oh god).”

The same story was shared on Reddit and users were quick to call out Mallika for her ‘saltiness’. One Redditor commented, “No offence but she wouldn’t think twice rushing to Cannes if given a chance…. Hypocrite much? Also, I hate all of them and don’t think they should be at a film festival or any platform without any credibility.”

Another one shared, “What about the time when she joined a bunch of random influencers to support the cricket team in Australia? Angoor** khatte hain.”

In all honesty, it is a moment of pride and happiness to watch influencers like Niharika NM, Ruhee Dosani, Dolly Singh, Ranveer Allahbadia, Masoom Minawala and Rahi Chadda. As a desi girl, I am all for representation!

Maybe Mallika is being sarcastic but her comment certainly didn’t come out in a good taste. After all, these people are representing India on an International platform. It is a moment of honour!
