Malaika Arora’s Skin Icing Technique Is Slightly Offbeat But Still Works

Malaika Arora’s glowing, radiant skin isn’t simply courtesy of pilates, yoga, or a commitment to drinking one liter of water in the morning. Sure. They play a part. But not entirely. Because Malaika believes in DIYs. Another thing she believes in? Not gatekeeping.

I recently discovered a hack of hers that truly fascinated me because of how full of advantages it is. And it involves freezing your carbs. Check it out.

Malaika’s Frozen DIY Contains:

Malaika’s DIY borrows from the goodness of fruits and vegetables while tying in the benefits of ice for the skin. The best part about this DIY is that it’s composed of three ingredients that are possibly sitting in your kitchen RN: potato, tomato, and papaya. Here’s what Arora does with them.

She blends a few pieces of papaya, potato, and tomato together and adds some water to the mixture. She pours this into an ice-cube tray and freezes it for a couple of hours and then applies the cubes all over her face for a few minutes.

This, Malaika believes, is much more refreshing than going over your face with a gooey, runny mix.

Let’s go over the benefits of this chilled DIY.

Potatoes

Potatoes excel at countering under-eye puffiness and discolouration; especially beneficial in the A.M. This, clubbed with the de-puffing abilities of ice, goes a long way in making you look wide-eyed and awake.

They even contain anti-inflammatory properties that soothe redness and inflammation associated with flare-ups. This is thanks to theingredient’s composition of zinc, copper, and sulfur. Since potatoes contain antioxidants, they can diminish signs of ageing.

This quality is further supported by its ability to hydrate and moisturise the skin; making your face look plump and youthful. Those with eczema and psoriasis can benefit from this too.

Tomatoes

Tomatoes exfoliate the skin and clear your pores of dirt and build-up; revealing a healthy, bright complexion underneath. They even reduce the amount of oiliness on your skin and maintain your skin’s pH; thereby reducing the occurrence of acne. This is also thanks to the vitamins A, C, and K present in tomatoes.

They even tighten your pores and prevent dirt, dust, and pollution from entering them. Like potatoes, tomatoes contain anti-inflammatory properties that soothe sunburn, rashes, and itchiness. effectively.

They have anti-ageing properties too thanks to the B vitamins present in them. This, again, reduces visible signs of ageing like wrinkles and lines.

Papaya

Papayas contain an enzyme called papain that stimulates the production of collagen; a protein that gives your skin its firmness and structure. Another fact is that, along with papain, papayas contain chymopapain too. These enzymes exfoliate and cleanse the skin while at it; unclogging your pores of dirt and oils and preventing acne in the process. This also means that it can shed old, dry skin typical of conditions like psoriasis and eczema.

Since they contain vitamins C and E, they hydrate and soothe dry, flaky skin. Vitamin C and lycopene in papayas can fight free radicals and prevent them from ageing your cells. Vitamin C’s presence also indicates that it can brighten the skin and lighten pigmentation.
