Curling into a blanket and watching a good crime drama is my coping mechanism for dealing with a bad day. There’s something about this genre that makes me forget all my problems and I’m always on the lookout for some new shows. Talking about new shows,  the most recent addition to the crime-drama list is Netflix’s Kaleidoscope. The show got on January 1st, 2023, and ever since then it’s been ruling the OTT charts. The show also has an impressive IMDB rating of 7.1. However, if you’re done watching Kaleidoscope and missing its non-linear narrative, we’ve got you covered. Here are a few similar shows that should definitely be on your watchlist. 

Money Heist

The first one on the list is this Spanish crime drama that took the Internet by storm. It tells the story of a criminal mastermind called ‘Professor’ who along with his army of eight plans the biggest heist in recorded history. They print billions of Euros in the Royal Mint of Spain. The show is broken down into five seasons, each one getting more exciting after the other.

Lupin is a classic French mystery thriller that is based on the story of a famous fictional gentleman thief Arsene Lupin. Inspired by the adventures of Lupin, the show’s protagonist grows up to avenge his father for an injustice inflicted by a wealthy family. This one’s a crime comedy drama that is based on a real-life heist in London. The story follows a group of hustlers who suddenly find themselves in organised crime after discovering a truckload of stolen gold. With actors like Luke Pasqualino, Rupert Grint, Lucien Laviscount, and Dougray Scott, it will surely be a treat to watch this one.

This action thriller revolves around the story of Jane Doe, who is found naked in Times Square with erased memory and her body covered in fresh tattoos. Her body becomes a maze of mysteries for the FBI. As they get closer to unveiling her past,  they discover some dark secrets.

Better Call Saul

This show is a spin-off series that takes place in the same universe as Breaking Bad. The story follows the transformation of a former con artist who is trying to become a respectable lawyer. Its dark and intriguing storyline allows you to see through the minds of characters that have questionable morals in life.

Prison Break

Prison Break is an American crime drama that is a story of a desperate man in desperate situations. Michael Scofield is an engineer who installs himself in a prison he designed in order to save his falsely accused brother from a death sentence. The show is in five seasons and definitely matches the shock value and storytelling depth of Kaleidoscope.

This one is a Colombian series that is loosely based on true events. Set in 1994, a team of skilled thieves plans an ambitious heist to steal millions from Colombia’s Bank of the Republic. The game of deception at the center of the heist makes the drama enticing.
