One product I picked up when I’d almost lost hope, was the L’Oreal Professionnel Serioxyl Advanced Hair Growth Serum. Not cheap on the pocket but it seemed like one last shred of hope I was willing to hold on to and experiment with.
What Is It?
The L’Oreal Professionnel Serioxyl Advanced Hair Growth Serum is a lightweight hair serum that comes in a glass bottle with a spray cap. It contains 5% Stemoxydine (a molecule designed to stimulate hair growth by awakening dormant hair follicles), and Resveratrol (has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties). This serum when sprayed on the scalp regularly for 6 weeks promises to boost hair growth and increase the hair’s density.
Our Thoughts
My first thought was that this product sounds too good to be true. Sure, there are products that make these promises all the time but how many of them actually deliver? I’m happy to report that this one really follows through with its promise. It’s been 2 months since I first started applying this to targeted areas on my scalp – where the hair is thinner and the scalp is easily visible. After a few applications, I stopped caring about the results and continued to do it because it relaxed me at the end of the day.
Cut to two months later, while blow-drying my hair, I realised my scalp wasn’t as visible as it used to be. The strands that were thin and limp also seem much healthier, and thicker and feel like they won’t break with a simple scrunchie
Like every product, this one has its drawbacks too. It does nothing for hair fall – I noticed the same amount of hair falling even before using the serum. I also have very fine hair with an oily scalp, and as lightweight as this serum is, it’s still product that manages to weigh my hair down the next day. But of course, the product doesn’t promise to reduce hair fall, so if that’s your primary concern, this one’s not for you.
How To Use It
This is a leave-in spray that’s meant to be applied on a clean scalp at night. Part your hair and spray this on around 5-4 times in each section, followed by a gentle massage with your fingertips.
