The Interesting Line-Up Of ‘Lock Upp’ Contestants Has Us Assured That This One Can Beat Bigg Boss
Those who have followed Bigg Boss through all the seasons, know on some level that the zing has been long lost. Nothing seems to be working for the show, no matter how hard the makers try. To make things worse, a new reality show is currently the talk of the town and it might be the last nail to Bigg Boss’s coffin. Yes, we are talking about Kangana Ranaut’s much-hyped show, Lock Upp.
The queen of all things controversial, Kangana made her digital debut last night with Lock Upp’s premiere. She introduced us to a riveting line-up of contestants that has us assured that this one is gonna give Bigg Boss a run for its money. Don’t trust us? Scroll through for the masaledaar line-up that will have you convinced:
Poonam Pandey
Think of Poonam Pandey as Lock Upp’s version of Rakhi Sawant, just bolder and more controversial. From a porn racket to some wild claims and promises, she is controversy’s favourite child for quite some time now. After hearing rumours of her entering the Bigg Boss house for years now, it would be interesting to finally see her in action.
Nisha Rawal
Last year, Nisha Rawal made it to the headlines after a public showdown with her now estranged husband, Karan Mehra. She accused him of domestic violence and having an extramarital affair while Karan claimed that Nisha was faking it all for hefty alimony. Following that, both went into their cocoon for a while. Surely, the audience will get to hear more about the entire row now that she is going to be a Lock Upp contestant.
Kaaranvir Bohra
Titled “experienced reality show loser” by Kangana Ranaut, Kaaranvir is entering the Lock Upp house to prove a point. We have all seen him in Bigg Boss 12 where the actor could not make it too far owing to a lacklustre show and his calm persona. We wanna see if he is ready to take it up a notch this time.
Sara Khan
We have all seen Sara Khan in Bigg Boss 4 where she had a rather controversial run. For the unversed, she had tied the knot with her boyfriend, Ali Merchant inside the reality show house. The marriage only lasted for two months which made everyone question if it was just a publicity stunt. Well, it is finally time to get answers to all such questions and more.
Payal Rohatgi
Payal Rohatgi, again, is a former Bigg Boss contestant who was seen in season 2 of the show. All this while, she has stayed in limelight owing to her controversial statements. She has had multiple runs with the law and trips to the jail. This has us assured that she’d be at home in Lock Upp and will bring her A-game.
Tehseen Poonawalla
Tehseen Poonawalla is the least popular contestant of the most successful season of Bigg Boss. During his BB 13 stint, Tehseen was shown doors within a week of his wild card entry and we just wanna watch him in Lock Upp for cheap thrills. We are giving him three weeks tops that too if he does not get nominated within week 1. What about you?
Saisha Shinde
Designer Saisha Shinde came out as a transwoman in 2021 and has been in the public eye ever since. She recently designed Miss Universe 2022, Harnaaz Sandhu’s winning gown and remains in the limelight for being vocal about trans issues as well. We look forward to her Lock Upp innings. It would be nice to finally have a reality show contestant who represents the trans community.
Munawar Faruqui
In January 2021, this controversial stand-up comedian spent a month in jail after getting accused of hurting religious sentiments in one of his shows. Later, Bengaluru Police denied permission to his comedy show amid protests by Hindu right-wing outfits. Interestingly, he has had an online tiff with Kangana as well and the friction between the two was apparent in last night’s episode.
Sunil Pal
One of the OG stand-up Indian comedians, Sunil Pal has been missing from the scene for a while. It would be a welcome change to see him back in action.
Swami Chakrapani Maharaj
This one was in news for his antics during the first wave of coronavirus pandemic. He held a ‘gomutra party’ and claimed that this is going to be the ultimate cure for COVID-19. Just imagine the kind of drama he is gonna bring to the Lock Upp jail!
Babita Phogat
She is easily going to be one of the least controversial but most popular contestants of Lock Upp. The wrestler is known for her 2014 Commonwealth Games’ victory and the viewers are sure to look up to her with adulation.
Siddharth Sharma
Siddharth is a reality show pro who was earlier seen in Splitsvilla. He also featured in Big F and Splitsvilla and ALT Balaji’s web series, Puncch Beat.
Shivam Sharma
One of the most controversial Splitsvilla contestants, Shivam is making his TV comeback with Lock Upp. He is a flawless player and is sure to perform well in case this show is based on tasks, just like Bigg Boss.
Anjali Arora
Anjali is a popular TikToker and social media influencer who has a bigger Instagram following than the show’s host, Kangana Ranaut.
Tell us fam, which one of these contestants are you most excited about?
