What’s Laminated Skin? A New Trend For That Next-Level Glow

Juicy, dewy skin is our number one priority at the moment, and we are gonna introduce you to the latest runway-approved fad that promises just that. Laminated skin has officially entered the derma picture, and it’s blowing up on Instagram with 41 million views and counting. The skincare trend is about giving your skin a dewy glow that even JLo would envy. It involves mimicking the appearance of a sweaty glow like you’ve just been on the dance floor, stepped out of the gym post-workout sesh, or arose from a sweaty session between the sheets, IYKWIM. It’s fresh, and sexy, and can be easily achieved by using the right products. If you wanna slay the vibe, here’s a step-by-step.

Here’s How To Try The Runway-Favoured Laminated Skin Trend

Step 1: Use A Chemical Exfoliant

Use a liquid peel to rejuvenate your skin by sloughing off dead skin cells. Lookout for ingredients like Glycolic acid and lactic acid to reveal your brightest, most youthful-looking skin.

Step 2: Apply A Serum

Apply a hydrating serum by using small tapping motions with your palms or fingertips. Just take a pea-sized amount of serum on your palms and pat it on your skin. The patting motions help the serum to penetrate deeper into the skin and activate the cells by boosting blood flow.

Step 3: Just Dew It!

Apply a creamy moisturiser to give your face a hefty dose of hydration. We recommend opting for a moisturiser that’s infused with hydrating ingredients such as hyaluronic acid, vitamin E, or aloe to give your skin a dewy glow.

Step 4: It’s All About The Base

Grab an illuminating primer and apply it all over your face.

Step 5: Apply A Dewy, Juicy Foundation

Next, take a medium coverage dew-inducing foundation and use a buffing brush to get an even base. You can also use your fingers to apply the foundation evenly. Apply the foundation starting from the centre of the face and then blend it out evenly. If you’re using a makeup sponge, use push-press motions for a seamless finish. We suggest using a liquid foundation to retain the next-level glow.

Step 6: Conceal To Mimic Filtered Skin

Grab a liquid concealer and apply it on areas that need more coverage. You can apply some under the eyes, on the bridge of your nose, around the mouth, and over any scars or blemishes, you’d like to cover.

Step 7: Cherub Cheeks, Please

To take your laminated skin to another level, we recommend applying a dewy creamy blush on the apple of your cheeks and a little on the bridge of your nose. Seal the deal by spritzing on a makeup setting spray and you’re good to glow.

You glow girl!
