Saif Ali Khan recently said in an interview, “You know, actors can’t wear masks and the film set is a very dangerous environment at this time. But most people I have worked with have made really big efforts. People are trying their best, but it’s still dangerous. These are tricky times and I feel actors definitely deserve credit for this.”
Although later he did take it a bit too far by comparing Bollywood celebrities to doctors who have been risking their lives since the outbreak of the pandemic, there is no denying that actors too, like a lot of us, are in a risky spot right now.
Bollywood has resumed work and actors have started going on sets and are travelling to different parts of the world for shoots. Given the nature of their work, many celebrities have unfortunately contracted the virus in the process. Recently, Varun Dhawan and Neetu Kapoor tested positive for COVID-19 while shooting for their upcoming movie Jug Jugg Jeeyo. And now, actress Kriti Sanon has reportedly tested positive as well while shooting for her upcoming movie in Chandigarh with co-star Rajkummar Rao.
The Raabta actress had previously shared on her social media handle that she had wrapped up her shoot in Chandigarh. However, upon returning to Mumbai, she was diagnosed with COVID-19. The Jug Jugg Jeeyo stars also contracted the deadly virus while shooting in Chandigarh as the city is currently said to be the hotspot of Corona. While Kriti has not made any official statement yet, actor Varun Dhawan confirmed on his Instagram handle that he has indeed tested positive and that he wished he was more careful.
Apart from Kriti, Varun, and Neetu, many other celebrities too have been at the receiving end of the virus. Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan were one of the first celebs from B-town to test positive. Recently, TV personality Tannaz Irani also announced on her social media handle that she has tested positive. Actress Tamannaah Bhatia, Malaika Arora, and Himanshi Khurrana too have undergone treatment for the same.
While there seems to be no end to the pandemic as of now, we do hope that with the new year comes a new ray of hope. Wishing Kriti Sanon a speedy recovery and hope she gets well soon.
