Katrina Kaif Was About To Quit Bollywood For This Reason & Here’s What Changed Her Mind

Katrina Kaif is on a roll right now. Her cute pics with hubby Vicky Kaushal on Instagram melt our hearts and we can never get enough of this adorable couple. On the work front, she is soon going to start shooting for her upcoming movie, Jee Le Zaraa. Kat will be sharing screen space with Priyanka Chopra and Alia Bhatt in this road trip based film and we are so excited about it. Kat has wrapped up the shooting of Phone Bhoot, a horror-comedy, which is set to release soon. She has a few other movies in the pipeline as well and we’re sure that the upcoming years are going to be fab for her. But, things were not always smooth for the actress and there was a time when she was about to quit Bollywood for good.

During her initial days in B-town, Katrina had to tackle several harsh comments and trolls, which took a toll on her mind. While famous film critics often criticised her acting skills, netizens claimed that she survived in the industry because of her luck. Well, the actress shut them up for good fifteen years ago with her movie Namastey London. It was also the phase when she wanted to pack her bags and leave as she didn’t want to handle destructive criticism anymore.

During an earlier conversation with Karan Johar on his talk show, Koffee With Karan, Katrina said that people’s rude comments had started affecting her. She said, “I just saw too much of me in the film and you start believing what people say.” She was sure that Namastey London was going to be another flop movie in her career and she wanted to quit Bollywood before it released. While talking about her reaction after watching the film’s screening, she added, “I am packing my bags and I am going to find a new career.”

Well, thank god she didn’t! Katrina is one of the biggest stars in Bollywood right now and it would have been a shame had she quit back then. Also, here’s something we want to remind all those people who thought that she survived in the industry because of her connections and luck—you cannot rule the showbiz for nineteen years without talent. Kat is one of the most hard-working actresses in B-town and her career graph is proof. From learning a new language and becoming fluent in it to delivering some of the most amazing action and dance sequences in movies, she has done it all.

Namastey London turned out to be one of the best movies of her career and that it’s because she added a personal touch to the film. She kept her accent real and expressions subtle, which was exactly what her role needed. While talking about its success, she said, “It was really important for me because I think it did change people’s perception. It was the first time I got so many calls even from the industry, from directors saying, ‘I think you did pretty well in the movie.’”

Well, she did and we are glad that the actress didn’t let people’s negative comments bother her post this movie. We’re sure that she’s going to impress us completely in her upcoming films as well.
