Thanks to Bollywood, we’ll never fall short of saree styles! Our celebrities enjoy embracing our culture and our traditional looks and we’re glad that Bollywood divas are wearing their 6-yard-wonder more often than expected. Your favourite stars are not only wearing sarees more often but they are also making a conscious decision of updating the style, everytime they wear it.
Karisma Kapoor attended an evening event to celebrate the Women’s Day. She wore an outfit from Anamika Khanna’s Spring 2018 collection. Her look included a white organza saree with tribal embroidery on it. Karisma’s stylist Esha Amiin chose to clinch the saree at the waist with a black and white fabric belt. Her saree was layered with a black sleeveless cape jacket. She rounded her look with bright pink lips and a three-part braid. We loved the tribal heads detail on the saree.
The 43-year-old actress was also in attendance at an event a night before that and was spotted in another traditional look.
She wore a white organza saree again but this look of hers was by another Bengali master, Sabyasachi featuring a gold badla work embroidery all over the border. The best part is that she wore it in one of the most loved floor-sweeping saree style. She traded the long sleeve blouse for a sleeveless white blouse, which worked well and made the whole look feel lighter and chic. If you ask us the saree look is reminiscent of her look in Zubeidaa as the demure second-wife of a Hindu prince. The dainty saree, the dewy make-up and the old world aura all contribute to the cause.
She left her hair loose and finished her ensemble with a pearl choker, which looked great. Old school stunning indeed!
Even as Ms Kapoor turned to her trusted monochrome palette for both the saree looks, we loved the diversity and the style inspiration it had to offer. Which style do you prefer?!
