After almost three months in quarantine, one thing is clear–we human beings are all the same. By “we”, I obviously mean us and Kareena Kapoor Khan. Thanks to social media, we can rest assured that even the Bollywood superstar is going insane during the lockdown (her crazy selfies are proof) and that her personal style includes easy-breezy, summery kaftans. Best part? With each new picture, Kareena is also showing that celebs too repeat clothes on a regular basis, that it’s completely okay and, in fact, a good practice to reuse and recycle. It is only recently that Kareena joined Instagram and has fast become one of the most relatable social media personalities for many.
Exhibit A:
I mean, isn’t taking selfies while flaunting your DIY face mask and posting them on Instagram what self-quarantine is all about anyway?! Just kidding. It’s also about making funky faces while at it. KKK also has a cool caption game besides all these inherent talents.
Speaking of which, here’s exhibit B:
Kareena and her kaftans make one helluva quaran-team. That with the help of a kiss from the Sun is how Bebo makes our day, one post at a time. Here are all the times Kareena wore a Kaftan during lockdown proving that kaftans are the new pyjamas, at least for the actress. All those who have been falling head over heels for the ‘house dress’ concept, take this!

A kaftan (also spelt as caftan in some cultures) is a clothing item with Asian origin. Traditionally a long robe or a tunic, it has been worn in a number of cultures around the world for a thousand years. Its contemporary versions include a short tunic, a top, etc. Flowy kaftans have popularly been a staple beach cover-up, too, but there is something so sexy about the silhouette that it makes you want to wear it pretty much everywhere, especially in the hot months. They’re comfortable, uber-chic, and a style statement. Not to mention effortlessly versatile.
They can double up as an elegant yet sophisticated choice for work. To the beach, as already mentioned above. From a casual brunch to a shopping spree, kaftans are that universal piece of fashion. In fact, Sonam Kapoor wore a chikankari kaftan dress by Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla for her wedding reception’s after-party! Guess they’re party-friendly too! Clear as it is, kaftans and summer are a match made in fashion heaven.
