Move Over Ranveer Singh! It’s Karan Johar’s Maximalist Style You Should Be Eyeing

There are few B-town men who tend to get experimental in the sartorial department and actually have a sense of personal style. Karan Johar is surely one of them. In the past two decades, we have seen Karan get comfortable with his eccentric sensibilities and adopting a maximalist approach in the fashion department complete with bejewelled blazers and statement accessories. Admittedly, the filmmaker does not get enough credit for his unequivocal sense of style. Well, today we are here to rectify the situation and talk about one of his recent looks that has truly knocked our socks off.  

As you might be aware, Karan would be appearing as a guest on Colors TV’s new show, Hunarbaaz: Desh Ki Shaan and is busy shooting for the same right now. For a recent shoot of the show, Karan put on a statement black suit and we are in awe. Here’s everything that we are loving about the look:

Statement Jackets FTW

The world knows about Karan’s love for flamboyant jackets. Comprising a hand-embroidered blazer by Dhruv Kapoor and a pair of colour block pants, his latest look is no exception. And while we believe that the jacket could have had a little more structure in the shoulder area, the rest of it has our approval. We are especially eyeing the unique floral motifs on the separate. That said, there is no missing out on his Bottega Veneta pants either and the striking green panels on them.

Let’s Talk Accessories

Karan has gone all out in the accessory department with his latest look and we stan! Top on our wishlist is that delicious Bottega backpack dipped in vibrant green, a hue that the brand has been aggressively pushing this season. Safe to safe, that is the trendiest pick form the lot and is really elevating Karan’s entire look. We’d also like to bring your attention to the clever use of silver Balenciaga shoes that nicely puncture the otherwise matchy-matchy look and bring in a touch of edge. While, we feel that Karan could have left out that silver cuff, we do love how the oxidised chain and rings add some razzle dazzle to the fit.

Verdict? This is a show-stopping look and it is high time we start giving Karan credit for the part he is playing in changing the fashion language for Indian men!
