Kangana Ranaut is a diva in every sense of the word. She likes to experiment with her outfits, accessories, hair and even makeup. Not only is she a trendsetter in her own way but also likes to adapt to upcoming trends.
The actress has been the talk of the town ever since she has announced her 2nd entry to the 72nd Cannes Red Carpet. We’re all excited to see what is the Queen actress going to wear to Cannes this year.
What we hear is that the Tanu Weds Manu actress has lost five kilos in ten days to look fit at the Cannes Film Festival. She had put on weight for her stint as a kabbadi player in Ashwini Iyer’s Panga.
Kangana felt the need to shed some kilos ahead of the festival. She said, “I was so busy with Panga. I had to gain almost 10 kilos; Ashwini wanted me to have thunder thighs. During trials (for her Cannes dresses), I realized I have to lose some weight.”
Kangana was recently snapped at Yogesh Bhateja’s studio, where she was working out for her Cannes look. Yogesh said in a press statement, “Kangana was supposed to gain wait for Panga so the calorie structure we followed was higher. So, all of a sudden it is not easy for any person to switch from a high-calorie diet to a calorie-deficit diet. Kangana worked out twice a day after an intense shoot for Panga for 10-11 hours every day.”
While we do love Kangana’s determination to look her best on the red carpet, this isn’t something we’d advise anybody else to try. Losing a lot of weight in a short span of time may do more harm than good to your body.
Talking about her red carpet look, Kangana recently said, “The clothes I wear will have drama. At the same time, as an Indian actor on a global platform, I have the responsibility of endorsing our weavers and wearing outfits that reflect our rich cultural heritage. My stylist Ami Patel and I have been brainstorming for a few weeks. We, along with Falguni and Shane Peacock, are designing a unique saree. The idea is to revive the forgotten weaves and bring them to the fore so that the world is more aware of our rich fabrics and culture.”
Talking about her fashion sense, she said “I was one of the first actresses to start wearing sarees to the airport. I use fashion as an expression of myself.”
For those who missed it, Kangana made her debut at the Cannes Film Festival last year by walking the red carpet in a black Sabyasachi ‘Akash-Tara’ sari with a sleeveless blouse and a bouffant hairdo from the 1960-1970s.
She had also worn a sheer Zuhair Murad gown for her second day on the red carpet and made headlines for turning up in a red latex dress and a bra topped with a jacket in her other appearances during the festival.
Can’t wait to check out her look for this year’s Cannes.
