Kalki Koechlin has always been one of the most fearless actresses in Bollywood. From taking up unconventional roles to bold photoshoots, the actress has broken many stereotypes. However, being dauntless never comes easy to a woman and Kalki has often been chastised for her choices. Her decision to have a baby before marriage was widely criticised. Now, after three years, the actress has finally spoken up.
Kalki was previously married to filmmaker, Anurag Kashyap. However, the two got divorced in 2015. Post their divorce, the actress started dating an Israeli musician, Guy Hershberg. In 2020, Kalki and Guy welcomed their daughter, Sappho out of wedlock. Kalki, who has kept her personal life low-key for quite a while, finally opened up about it in a recent interview. She spoke about the immense trolling and criticism she faced after she gave birth to her daughter. Kalki also revealed the reason why she chose not to get married.
She said, “Everyone had an issue with me not being married. I was already divorced. He (Guy) was like, ‘I’m not interested in marriage.’ So we just took a conscious decision not to marry but we are living together.” The actress currently lives in Goa with her daughter and her partner. Many couples believe that they do not need a piece of paper to make their relationship official. As a society, it’s high time we live and let live!
When Kalki Spoke About Life After A Baby
In an earlier interview, Kalki Koechlin spoke about how her equation with her boyfriend, Guy Hershberg changed after they welcomed their baby girl. She said, “We are constantly competing for romantic-ness. No, it’s not the same. I’ve become a parent. Hello, where’s our sex life? It’s gone. It’s like bye-bye, what is that? It’s like forgotten. It’s been a tough year. They say that first two, three years of having children, 80 percent of couples go through therapy or break up. We haven’t done either of those things, but it’s been tough. We’re getting into a better place since Sappho is less needy.”
We’re glad that Kalki Koechlin has found happiness in her life and that she has found a way to balance her work and personal life. TBH, we cannot wait to see her on-screen again with Made In Heaven 2!
