Kajol’s Mother Tanuja Gets Admitted To The Hospital After Being Diagnosed With Diverticulitis

Years before Kajol hit the big screen, her mother Tanuja was one of the top actresses in Bollywood. The legendary actress received recognition for her remarkable performances in Jewel Thief, Nai Roshni, Jeene Ki Raah, Haathi Mere Saathi and many others.

She was last seen in A Death In The Gunj, a film written and directed by Konkona Sen Sharma.

We recently learned that the actress was admitted in Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital after she complained about abdominal pain on May 29. It has now been revealed that the actress has been diagnosed with diverticulitis. According to PTI, the actress will undergo an operation to treat the medical condition. 

Sources revealed, “The actress will be operated for the medical condition wherein there is an inflammation or infection of small pouches called diverticula.”

In an interview with a media portal, Kajol spoke about her bond with her mom. She said, “She is one of the most forward-thinking women; she brought me up with a lot of bravery.”

She also talked about what her mother told her before she entered her teens. The Helicopter Eela actress said, “As a child, I would get a lot of beating, but the biggest thing my mother did was that when I was 12, she told me, ‘You will be 13 soon, you are becoming a teenager from today. I will never raise a hand on you again. Now is the time to take responsibility for your actions. You have to practice whatever I have taught you till now. I will guide you if you make mistakes, but I will not shout or beat you henceforth.'”

This week has been tough for the Devgn family. Two days before Kajol’s mother got admitted to the hospital, Ajay Devgn’s father Veeru Devgan passed away on May 27 of a prolonged illness. Various Bollywood celebrities including Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai, Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Sanjay Dutt, Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, Anil Kapoor and Arjun Kapoor visited the family to pay their last respects.

Veeru Devgan was suffering from breathing problems and was rushed to Surya Hospital in Santa Cruz. But his condition worsened and suffered a cardiac arrest.
