Kajol Devgan has gotten better, bolder and sassier with her upcoming release Lust Stories 2. And I am digging this vibe! The actress recently spoke about women’s right to sexual pleasure. With our society becoming more sex-positive, this conversation is a crucial one.
In an interview, Kajol said, “At one point in time as a society, we were very open about it. It was part of our ancient texts and our education. We later closed ourselves off from it. But at the end of the day, it is a very normal part of life that we cannot do without. I think it needs to be normalised the same way that we’ve normalised eating and drinking. It’s really a question of making it a part of the conversation rather than closing it off. Trying not to talk about it gives it all the more attention and focus.”
The Diwale actress also hinted that Bollywood films also didn’t give any visibility to female pleasure. “Lust used to be two flowers coming together at one point. Two red roses used to come together and that was it. Next, she’s pregnant,” she added. Kudos to Kajol for speaking on this sensitive subject without any hesitation. There was a lack of education in the sexual wellness space which needed to be addressed, so thank you Kajol, I needed to hear it!
Indian women often get the short end of the stick when it comes to sexual pleasure. While things are changing, not a lot has altered in the world of female orgasms.
Every woman who is consenting to a sexual relationship with someone deserves to reach the finishing point. After all, the couple that climaxes together stays together.
