On actress Sridevi’s 56th birth anniversary, her daughter, Janhvi Kapoor took to Instagram to wish her mother and tell her she loves her. Sridevi was an iconic actress known for her roles in movies Mr. India, Judaai and more recently, English Vinglish. She lost her life in a tragic incident at the Emirates Towers Hotel, Dubai on 24th February in 2018. Her daughter, Janhvi Kapoor who made her debut with Dhadak, merely 5 months after her mother passed away, shared a picture of Sridevi with the caption, “Happy birthday Mumma, I love you” on Instagram.
Several celebrities like Priyanka Chopra, Manish Malhotra, Dia Mirza and Masaba Gupta commented on the picture with hearts. Post her mother’s demise, Janhvi opened up in an interview with a leading news portal that she was dealing with the “gnawing hollowness in (her) chest” by immersing herself in work. “It hasn’t been an easy experience. My work and my family have given me the strength to go on. If it wasn’t for coming back to the sets of Dhadak or being able to act, I think it would have been much tougher than what it is now. I am very thankful that I had the opportunity to work in the film and act. It saved me in many ways,” the actress said.
Apart from Janhvi, Sridevi’s close friend, designer Manish Malhotra also shared a picture on Instagram with the caption, “💗💕 miss you”
On Sridevi’s first death anniversary, husband Boney Kapoor held a puja for the actress at her maternal home in Chennai. “There are heroes and then there are legends, heroes get remembered but legends never die. Sri lives with us every day… Not a minute goes by when we don’t miss her,” said the producer in an interview with a newspaper.
Sridevi’s daughter, Janhvi will next be seen in RoohiAfza opposite Rajkummar Rao. The movie is a horror-comedy and is scheduled for release on March 20, 2020.
