J.Lo’s New Beauty Look Makes Us Think She’s Ready To Put Up A Xmas Tree Already

You know how celebrities are always in charge of getting us all enthusiastic about Christmas at least a month before the festivities start? This time — it’s not Mariah Carey’s All I Want For Christmas Is You playing on a loop on Spotify and YouTube. It’s someone else, and they’ve embraced Christmas like no one else. Already. Errrryone — Jennifer Lopez. Because J.Lo just delivered a show-stopping look to us on the ‘gram, and if this doesn’t scream Christmas, we don’t know what does. Before she surprises us with yet another carousel, here’s J.Lo’s beauty look, and why we love it so much.

Is J.Lo Already Jamming To ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You?’

Lit Up Like A Christmas Tree

Jennifer’s skin is bronzed and illuminated to the T. While Lopez’ look-book is a brown-lipped loyalist, this bronzer-heavy, red-lipped aesthetic is giving — and it’s giving Christmas. The cheekbones boast a warm-toned splash of red that swivels down to the lips deliciously — glazed, glossy, and overlining the pout ever so subtly — and the brows are brushed and defined boldly. Both display the prettiest arches, and are filled in effortlessly.

The eyes speak of a glitter-studded iridescence that feels so festive. Notice how the lids are drenched in just enough glitter for the eyes to pop — but not steal any attention from the rest of the look. The best part? Though J.Lo’s base is glazed-donut-like, there’s never saying no to highlighter. Not only are the cheekbones endowed with a show-stopping luminosity, but also her brow-bones, Cupid’s Bow, temples, and nose are highlighted with abandon — and its serving.

Mane Magic

The mane is glorious — J.Lo’s slicked-back, sky-high, Barbie-like ‘do dons on a platinum-blonde-cum-brunette avatar, and it is possibly another one of Chris Appleton’s star-studded creations. Notice how the poker-straight, polished base of the ‘do evolves into soft, effortlessly-styled waves as they cascade down the waist. Appleton recently shared a step-by-step breakdown to achieve the look, and it’s not as complicated as you might’ve thought.

While we’re not sure Appleton is the brains behind this look, this is what he does to create a sky-skimming ‘do. Create a sky-high ponytail around the crown of the head before sliding the elastic back a little bit. This adds some space between the base of the hair and the elastic. Go on to create a hole in this space by splitting the ‘do into two chunks before folding the ponytail right under the elastic — looping it up through the hole and pulling it back in to tighten the ponytail. You can conclude with a texturising hairspray to play into the volume of it all. And you’re done.
