The song ‘Naatu Naatu‘ from SS Rajamouli’s film RRR had everyone grooving throughout 2022 and the frenzy is yet to die. So, when the buzz went around that this popular track was nominated at the 80th Golden Globes, the whole nation was rooting for it. Well, guess what? Our prayers have been heard and ‘Naatu Naatu‘ just bagged the Golden Globes award for Best Original Song!
This is India’s very first Golden Globe award which makes it a grand moment for the entire nation. The song was directed and composed by music legend MM Keeravani. He received the award on behalf of the entire RRR team.
‘Natu Natu’ clinched the award despite stiff competition from several globally-recognised artists and songs like “Lift Me Up” from the film Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and Lady Gaga’s “Hold My Hand” from Top Gun: Maverick.
The movie RRR was also nominated under the category of ‘Best Picture-Non English’. However, the Telugu blockbuster lost the award to Santiago Mitre’s historical drama “Argentina, 1985.”
SRK’s Plea For Touching The Golden Globe
After it was reported that the film RRR would be nominated in several categories at the Golden Globe awards, actor Shah Rukh Khan had an unusual request for the film’s team. He requested them to let him touch the award if they manage to bring it home. Well, looks like SRK manifested this one for team RRR!
What a day! Here’s extending our heartiest congratulations to the entire team of RRR.
