The #GoCheetaGetBattata wedding was just a little too cute for words. The talented Masaan actress Shweta Tripathi married the love of her life Chaitnya Sharma in a stunning Goan wedding. The rainy and fun-filled environment had us all swaying along with the happy couple as they tied the knot. Everything about the wedding was unconventional, from the crazy pyjama party to the bride’s lehenga.
Shweta wore an ensemble from Papa Don’t Preach by Shubhika for her D-day and boy did she look stunning. She chose a pink skirt with a cream blouse and a blue chunni, yep we love a good contrast. The entire look was pulled together with floral patterns and gold motifs. WOW!
If you loved this look, we bet you’re going to go crazy for these 7 items we’ve selected from the Papa Don’t Preach by Shubhika collection that are perfect for the bride who is anything but basic. Fun and quirky, it’s all the inspiration that a 2018 bride needs!
1. Hey sunshine, give us a twirl
This lehenga is perfect for a day function like a mehendi or a spunky sangeet. The yellow in the outfit makes it bright and happy and the pink and blue hues add an extra something to the whole look. And the plus point is that it’s light and you don’t have to be dying under the weight of a 20 kilos dress.
2. Blue blue, I spy that jumpsuit on you!
Mixing up western and Indian wear is becoming a massive style statement, so who said you can’t wear a jumpsuit for a wedding. This blue and gold piece from the collection is flattering and easy to carry off. No dupatta or skirt to worry about, just one outfit and you’re good to go. The colour makes it wearable both during the day as well as the night for an Indo-western function!
3. Go black and glow gold!
We couldn’t do an article on Papa Don’t Preach By Shubhika and not put in their signature sarees, now could we!? You can never go wrong with black and gold for an Indian function.
4. A half-jacket = Wacky times
When we look at this off-beat ensemble we’re screaming for it to be in our closet! It’s a pastel pink sharara paired with a blush half jacket that also features a cutesy bow. The outfit does all the talking and it’s just what you need to be the Instagram famous bride!
5. The new ivory tale
There’s something so fresh about this outfit. Dhoti pants have always been our favourite but this bold and eccentric take on the style makes it even better. You can probably chuck the traditional yellow and opt for this for your haldi function, what say?!
6. Dazzle in a grey jacket-gown
The fit, the drape and the flow make this an ideal look for a curvy bride. Fitting in all the right places, dazzle at your wedding reception or cocktail party with this grey jacket-gown. Oh and don’t forget to do that twirl in this beauty, we bet it’ll be one to remember!
7. Pretty pretty pink ribbon
One of our faves from Shubhika’s collection is this lehenga worn by Kiara Advani. It’s an ivory piece but full of myriad, fun hues. Gold embellishments, pink ribbon detailing and floral patterns makes this one a truly one in a million ensemble. For the happy, quirky bride who is anything but mainstream, this one is THE one!
So hey, do you dare to go crazy!? ☺
