‘Is that Ranveer Singh dressed as Kapil Dev or Kapil Dev dressed as Ranveer Singh?’ This is the first question that comes to my mind when I see the still shared by Ranveer from his upcoming movie, ’83. The actor, who plays the role of former Indian cricket captain Kapil Dev (from the time India won the World Cup in ’83) is gazing at the ball after hitting the legend’s famous Natraj shot.
From the moustache to the curly hair, kudos to the ’83 team for creating a reel look which is as good as real.
Ranveer Singh shared the photo and wrote, “NATRAJ SHOT. #RanveerAsKapil @therealkapildev @kabirkhankk @deepikapadukone @Shibasishsarkar @madmantena #SajidNadiadwala @vishinduri @RelianceEnt @FuhSePhantom @NGEMovies @vibri_media @ZeeMusicCompany.”

Directed by Kabir Khan, ’83 is a glorious tale of the Indian Cricket Team winning the World Cup for the first time ever in 1983. It was a special victory that still holds close to our hearts since we broke the domination of West Indies and that too, on the British turf.
’83 also stars other prominent names and we can’t contain our excitement for the movie. Tahir Raj Bhasin as Sunil Gavaskar, Ammy Virk as Balwinder Sandhu, Harrdy Sandhu as Madan Lal.
Not just that! Ranveer’s real-life wifey, Deepika Padukone, will also be seen in a special role in the movie, essaying the role of Kapil Dev’s wife Romi Dev. The movie is slated for release next year on April 10.
