Marriages are made in heaven, it’s said. Then what difference does it make if it’s a big fat Indian wedding or an intimate ceremony at home? I ask this question because this year we have talked extensively about how the current pandemic cast its somber shadow on all the weddings that had been fixed for 2020. I also ask this question because we were recently introduced to what we think is the happiest couple of 2020 who had their wedding at home and it looked like everything that dreams are made of.
Rishab and Mehak Kapur tied the knot earlier this year during the lockdown period in an intimate home ceremony that had an attendance of just 10 people. Everyone else joined in through Zoom while the bride and groom made the best of their wedding festivities.
Here’s everything that we loved about this beautiful wedding:
The Cute Face Mask Exchange
Making the best of their situation, the couple seized the spirit of their lockdown wedding and decided to exchange face masks right after their varmalas and rings. Cute, na? Watch the video here:
Their Chemistry!
What makes this lockdown wedding truly beautiful to us is the happy couple and their amazing chemistry. They are happy because they are together, that’s all that matters, and the fact that they got to tie the knot in their personal space beautifully adds to that equation. Watch this video to see the adorable moment when the groom first sees the bride and she reaches out to fix his beads.
The Jubilant Smiles
Pick any picture or video from their wedding and you’d find Mehak and Rishab smiling like it’s the best day of their lives and that’s all that matters right? We are especially hooked to their haldi pics. Here, check them all:
Their Wedding Attires
Instead of going all matchy, Mehak and Rishab opted for subtle coordination for their wedding outfits. From the scattered fuchsia embroidery on Rishab’s sherwani to the mint green highlights in Mehak’s lehenga and tassels, it’s all in the details and we love the thought that has been put into coordinating the outfits.
Mehak’s fuchsia lehenaga with gota-patti and kundan details definitely deserves a separate mention. Don’t miss out on the fuss-free, sleeveless choli! We especially like how stylishly she has balanced the plunging neckline with her navratna choker. We are in awe!
Also, we cannot help but admire her dewy, bridal glow! Totally loving the luminescent skin, detailed eyes and nude lips!
Intimate But Not Really
From their haldi to the kaleera ceremony, the couple ensured to celebrate everything with their family even if they couldn’t make it physically. Perhaps it’s the same warmth that makes this wedding all that it is.
I don’t know about you, but Mehak and Rishab surely made me dream of a home wedding!
