Many A-listers gathered together to pay homage to late designer Karl Lagerfeld in some of the most exquisite outfits. So the night would have been incomplete without his favourite supermodels walking the carpet. Naomi Campbell was one of them who made her 16th Met Gala appearance felt. However, it was her rare outfit for the night that got the world talking, especially her desi fans.
Sassy In Saree
Supermodel Naomi Campbell wore an archival look from Chanel’s SS 2010 couture collection that was inspired by a saree. The luscious salmon pink gown featured a pallu-like drape in the front and a silver embroidered bodice resembling a blouse. She further accentuated her look by adding silver earrings, arm cuffs, and a pair of silver heels. The supermodel completed her look with signature poker-straight hair and dewy makeup.
However, this is not Naomi’s first rodeo in a saree. In 2009, Naomi walked the ramp for ace designer Sabyasachi in a black sheer saree featuring a golden border. Even after that, the model has been spotted in desi outfits on various occasions.
