Until 2019, I loved Adam Levine’s Stereo Hearts and sang it just the way it was meant to be. Cut to 2021 and I can’t go back to the OG song. In fact, it feels like that it didn’t even exist before its mashup with Shah Rukh Khan’s Zaalima. If you get the reference, then there’s no doubt that you are as obsessed with Instagram Reels as I am. *Hi5*.
Reels were considered a TikTok clone initially, but it soon became a rage for obvious reasons–short and crisp videos that let the users come up with quirky content that becomes viral instantly. Even celebrities addicted to Reels. Not to forget, they kept us entertained throughout the lockdown and TBH, we also started experimenting with Reels.
NGL, I have been spending an ungodly amount of time on Instagram Reels recently and enjoying every minute of it.
7 Things You Will relate To If You’re Addicted To Instagram Reels
If you are obsessed with creating Reels, watching them, or both, then here are some instances that you will find relatable FOSHO!

You Start & End Your Day With Instagram Reels
Remember there was a time when people used to wake up and read about what’s happening around the world? Yeah, the same thing happens now as well, but with a twist. We are now more concerned about updating ourselves with the latest trends that are going viral on the ‘Gram. Our day legit starts and ends after we have watched, saved and shared at least a dozen Reels with our friends.
Instagram Reels>>Music Apps
There are plenty of music apps on our phones but our fave one is Instagram. Wait, Instagram isn’t a music app! Well, you won’t say that once you hear all the amazing mashups and covers on Reels.
Listening to really talented people sing their own versions of some of the most iconic songs is the best thing ever. And, we doubt that we’ll get this experience anywhere else. Case in point: Jashn-e-Bahara cover by Anumita Nadesan and Beth McCarthy’s cover of Taylor Swift’s song Love Story.
The Annoyingly Addictive Insta Reels Songs
And, while there are songs on Insta Reels that we absolutely love, there are the ones that are annoying AF! These are the viral tracks that are used by almost every other content creator and will continue to play in your head on loop. Nope, there’s no escape from that.
You Always Know The New Trends & Challenges
From catfishing an outfit, acing quirky eye makeup looks to nailing the Buss It song, chances are that you have tried all these fun challenges already. BTW, you can nail all your makeup challenges on social media by adding these products to your cart.
Editing Reels Is A Skill
While giving all the viral trends your own take is fun, editing them is definitely tiring AF! NGL, I’m adding ‘can edit videos like a pro’ on my resume ‘coz spending hours editing a 15-30-second long video is no joke.
Say Hello To Reel-Life Stars!
Here’s the thing—while adulting is inevitable, it’s not that fun. Working hard to pay bills and running between virtual meetings and the gym can be extremely overwhelming. And that is why we love creating Reels because they give us a break from our mundane lives and make us feel like starlets. We’re not Bollywood actors, but lip-syncing to famous songs and dialogues are the perfect diva moments that we all deserve.
Just Cannot Stop Scrolling!
Lastly, as true Instagram Reels addicts, we never stop scrolling. We may think that we will keep our phones aside after watching just one more video but that ‘one’ soon converts into ten. And before we know it, the sun is up, the work deadlines have crossed, and we have more new Reels to check out.
The world is definitely on the ‘Gram and they are busy either watching or creating Reels. BRB, gotta check out the new Reels trend and give it a go!
