This Indo-Serbian Wedding Took Place Across Two Countries & Was Planned In Just 3 Months
They say that marriages are made in heaven and there are some love stories that make you believe that. Meet our groom Ansh and his bride Bobana, who hails from Serbia. Their Indo-Serbian wedding was celebrated across two destinations in separate countries and the festivities were *magical*. Jab They Met
Hailing from different countries and completely different cultures, they met in a classroom in Vienna. Sparks flew and they started dating and after a year of being together, they finally confessed their love to each other in India. Three years into the relationship, Ansh and Bobana decided to take the plunge and tie the knot.

Wedding Planning
Planning your wedding can be daunting and even a bit overwhelming. “Ansh and I are both working professionals, time is a luxury which both of us are short on. Also, unlike any wedding, shifting countries was no small feat and it’s a lot of smaller moving parts that need to be taken care of in a short period of time with deadlines. Not only was this a big fat Indian wedding, but the addition of an equally big Serbian wedding made the job even harder”, Bobana said. But from careful planning to curation, everything was planned by Kunal Laungani-led Chapter 2 Events, and it was nothing less than a dream come true for the couple.
Hailing from different backgrounds, the couple wanted to celebrate with two weddings – a dreamy Christain wedding ceremony and a big fat Indian wedding. For their Serbian wedding, they chose the bride’s hometown in Belgrade, Serbia. The Indian affair took place at Antalya, Turkey.
Serbian Wedding
The wedding festivities kickstarted on January 12, 2020, with their Christain wedding in Belgrade, and the couple exchanged their vows under the dazzling fairy lights at the stunning venue – Restoran Topčiderac. While Bobana looked like a vision in her flowy white gown, her groom Ansh looked dapper in a white tuxedo by Philocaly – Menswear. The wedding was solemnised by the bride’s best friend and the groom’s brother, which made the occasion even more special.
The theme – white & green – was set by the Event Stylists, Meha of Styl.Inc. in coordination with decorator Goca from Svadbena Zvona Weddings & Events and executed by Chapter 2 Events.

Big Fat Indian Wedding
After they were officially pronounced as ‘man and wife’, the wedding celebrations continued in Antalya, Turkey. They chose Titanic Mardan Palace Hotel as it was love at first sight for both of them. An official welcome dinner organised by Ansh’s family at the Aquamarine Restaurant set the ball rolling for the three-day extravaganza.
Haldi & Mehendi
The haldi ceremony was essentially a Holi party with lots of colours, music and of course, haldi. With the help of Meha, the bride chose a bright yellow lehenga by Label: Anushree and the groom complemented her in a vibrant yellow kurta and an embroidered nehru jacket.

Sangeet
The sangeet ceremony was themed ‘Fire & Ice’. While ice signified the chilly weather, fire emanated the essence of exotic and fiery performances that were lined up for guests. The performances included professional fire artists from Turkey, followed by dance performances by the couple’s family and friends. ‘Coz what’s a sangeet without some latkas jhatkas, right?!
For her sangeet, Bobana chose a multi-coloured lehenga with mirror work by Tamanna Punjabi Kapoor while her groom Ansh complemented her in a black and white tux.

Wedding & Reception
The groom ditched a ghodi for his baraat and entered the venue in a convertible car, followed by dholwalas and a Turkish band with folk artists. Bobana made a grand entry in a palki with traditional Indian songs playing in the background.
The mandap was set up on the beach with the Mediterranean sea as the backdrop. For their wedding, Bobana ditched the traditional red and wore a heavily-embroidered green lehenga by Anita Dongre and looked beautiful. Meanwhile, Ansh donned an ivory sherwani by Brahaan by Narains with golden saafa by Sarab Khanijou.

From The Bride, Bobana
“Styl Inc., Chapter 2 Events & CineLove made our life easier and our wedding amazing. Whether it’s Meha orchestrating the non-English speaking make-up artists to get me the look I’ve always wanted, or Kunal dealing with the medical emergency of our guest in the middle of the night, after managing the over the top sangeet party, we did get our fairytale ending in the best manner possible.” ~ Bobana
The #AnshAna wedding was beautiful, not just because of the locations or the spectacular arrangements, it was beautiful because it was full of love, laughter and happiness. We wish the couple a happy married life!
