Indian bridal wear is truly one-of-its-kind for its exquisite embroideries and colours that scream nothing but pure joy. But because of the array of options available, it is easier to find a groom than to find the ideal wedding outfit. No wonder the quest for a perfect bridal ensemble begins early on. But sadly, the struggle to zeroing down to the perfect bridal fit is not at all the same for every bride. For some, the challenge might lie in finding the right colour, and for others, it’s about finding a store that has a lehenga available in their size.
While we can only imagine how overwhelming the whole process can be, this bride actually decided to share her ordeal through her wedding video. We recently came across a video of a bride, Ayesha, in which she’s talking about how she found it difficult to find an outfit being a mid-sized bride. She also called out the hypocrisy of big designers like Sabyasachi and Rimple and Harpreet who have actively promoted inclusivity with their plus-size models but failed to have one single plus-size garment at their store for trial. And lastly, she also shared how people are only obsessed with how much weight she has lost before her wedding day.
Take a look at the video:
People in the comment section applauded Ayesha for speaking out and poured in their support.
Honestly, getting married is overwhelming for a bride. She’s about to start a new life and begin a new chapter. But amidst all this, the last thing she wants to worry about is finding the right outfit that fits her. It is disappointing to know that even today big designers have failed to practice what they preach. Ayesha’s video is definitely an eye-opener and hope the brands are taking notes but with sincerity this time.
