Level Up Your Beauty Game This Festive Season By Channelling Poo’s High-Fashion Glamm

Since she emerged onto the Bollywood scene in the 2000s, it’s been hard not to love everything about Kareena Kapoor Khan. She’s starred in some of our favourite movies, from Jab We Met to Veere Di Wedding. And most importantly, she’s become the ultimate beauty inspiration. The K3G star has never shied away from making a style statement – and her high-glamour beauty looks are no exception. From rocking frosty mauve lipsticks as Poo to nailing 90s glam like it was NBD – Kareena is the  OG beauty girl who has proven she can carry off any look going.

Day 4 at Lakme Fashion Week saw Bebo stride down the ramp as a show-stopper for couturier Gaurav Gupta’s show. Kareena wore her hair in a sleek bun and wowed with metallic, kohl-rimmed eyes. The star used a shimmering gold eyeshadow and string sweep of black liner above her upper lashes to complete the look. Since shimmery eye makeup is having a real moment – gaining prominence in everything from designer shows to celebrity vanities – this is a perfect beauty look to save for special occasions. It’s fresh, versatile, and surprisingly easy to execute. Scroll ahead to learn how you can copy this stunning look for the festive event on your social calendar.

You’re Only 7 Steps Away From Poo’s High-Fashion Glamm

Step 1: Set The Base Right

Here’s the thing: nourishing the skin and prepping the base is key. Once the skin is well-prepped, makeup will go over it seamlessly. Pamper your skin with a face mask, follow it with moisturiser and primer to create a silky, smooth canvas. Then, apply an oil-free foundation to create a radiant but matter base.  Once done with the foundation, apply a creamy concealer to cover any uneven patches, then dab setting powder only on areas where you tend to get oily a tapered brush to retain max glow.

Step 2: Trick To Fake A Bold Brow

For strong brows, draw short strokes to mimic your natural hair with an eyebrow product. To fill them in more, use a brow powder with an angled brush to fill in any gaps. Follow it up with a brow gel to set them in place.

Step 3: Shine On!

Apply a medium brown matte eyeshadow all over the lids, blended slightly into the crease. Then, with the help of a precise pencil brush, take the same brown eyeshadow and apply it over the lower lash line. Next, pick a gold eyeshadow and apply it all over your lids. Grab your eyeliner to define the upper lash line. You can also use a waterproof pencil eyeliner to tight line the upper lash line and make your lashes appear fuller.

Step 4: For Dramatic Length & Volume

Complete the look by applying some mascara to the upper and lower lash line. To make them look extra fluttery, you can also add gossamer falsies or stick on a few short individual lashes in the centre and outer corners of the eyes.

Step 5: Contour That Looks Good IRL Too

Bid adieu to unnatural-looking, heavily contoured makeup look with this easy trick. Just apply the bronzer or contour slightly above the hollows of the cheeks and blend it inwards to subtly add some warmth and lift the skin. To create a softer contour, start by applying a little bit of product and build it as necessary and be conscious of what your makeup will look like in the daylight. You can sculpt foreheads, noses, cheekbone, and jawline with a darker foundation shade for a second-skin finish.

Step 6: Try It For Your Next Full-Face-Worthy Occasion

Just dap a few dots of cream blush on the apple of your cheeks and blend, try to blend all the harsh edges before the product dries out. Then, apply an iridescent highlighter on the tops of your cheekbones with a fan brush to make them pop.

Step 7: Sport A Berry Blot On The Lips

For the lips, choose a soft berry-hues matte lipstick to amp up the look. Finally, use a makeup setting spritz for an extra dose of glow.

Take notes to pull it off like Poo!
