#SkincareBasics: 15 Easy And Effective Ways To Close Large Open Pores At Home

“I really wished my pores looked bigger,” said no one ever. In this pixel-perfect world, every pore seems to be visible in selfie mode and it’s understandable to be concerned or even borderline obsessed with the state of your skin. If you’re like us, you’ll agree that enlarged, dilated pores are one of the most annoying little skin woes.

While we can’t actually change the diameter of our pores, we can improve their visibility. Thankfully, there are hacks that’ll allow you to emulate the smooth, almost poreless (emphasis on almost, since again no skin is truly free from pores!) skin of youth. Below, we’ve mentioned how to reduce open pores on the face.

What Are Open Pores?

The term ‘open pores’ refers to enlarged skin pores that have become more noticeable over time. The pores on the skin allow it to breathe by releasing sebum or natural oil onto the surface. However, large skin pores often appear in areas that have a higher density of sebaceous glands specifically in the T-zone of the face.

What Are The Causes Of Open Pores?

Over time, pores become stretched with debris such as dead skin cells, excess oil, makeup, and pollution, which makes them appear larger. Keeping our pores clear of any impurities allows them to snap back to their natural size. High level of oil production, reduced elasticity around pores, thick hair follicles and genetics are some of the other causes.
