#SqueakyClean: You NEED To Follow This 6-Step Guide To Clean Your Make-up Brushes!

It’s essential to invest in good quality make-up brushes but it’s equally important to have clean make-up brushes. Maintaining their hygiene can save you from breakouts, rashes leading to a better application. Here’s a step-by-step guide onhow to clean makeup brushes like a pro. (You’ve got this, girl!)

How To Clean Makeup Brushes

Here are the things you will need:

1. Make-up brushes

2. A cup of warm water

3. Baby shampoo

Step 1: Run The Brushes Under Lukewarm Water

Start by running the bristles of your brush under lukewarm water. While washing, make sure the bristles are facing downwards. Avoid letting water seep into the part of the brush where the handle meets the head it loosens the glue that holds the bristles together.

Step 2: Slowly Dip The Brushes Into A Cup Of Water Diluted With Baby Shampoo

The next step is to fill a cup with warm water and squirt some baby shampoo into the mix. Use a spoon to give it a good stir and slowly dip the brush in the water. Once you’ve done that, gently swirl your brush tip in the water. Do this for about 3 minutes.

Step 3: Remove The Brush From The Mix And Give It A Good Massage

Gently remove the brush from the mixture and massage the tip using your fingers. The key here is to squeeze out the dirt and make-up residue from the brushes into the soapy water.

Step 4: Again Rinse The Brushes Under Running Lukewarm Water

Once again, rinse the brush tip under running water and continue to massage the bristles till the water runs clear.

Step 5: Re-shape Them Using Your Fingers

During the cleaning process, there’s a possibility that the bristles can get crooked. When that happens, use your fingers to straighten, flatten and pull the delicate bristles back into their original form.

Step 6: Lay Them Flat On The Table To Dry

Wipe off excess water and lay your brushes on a clean cloth or a paper towel. If you choose the latter, make sure that half of the brush is placed on the table and the other half is hanging over the edge. Once you notice that brushes are completely dry, fluff your brushes up a bit. It’s as simple as that!
