Check out what they have to say…
1. Pooja Sonik says a good skincare routine is a must to achieve the PERFECT dewy look!
“The first step to achieving a dewy makeup look is to practice a good skincare regime. Even if you don’t want to spend a fortune on expensive products, you must focus on proper cleansing while keeping the skin moisturized and hydrated at all times. The idea of dewy makeup is to make your skin look glowy and not greasy or oily. The key is to practice subtlety without going overboard by using too many products. For those with oily skin, I suggest using a mattifying primer. Apply a lightweight foundation or BB cream if the skin is clear. If you have problem areas, a full coverage foundation works best with a dampened beauty blender. You may even use a colour correcting concealer to hide any visible spots or pigmentation. Once done, set the T-zone with a loose powder and top it up with powder blush. Use a highlighter on the high points of the face that catch light, such as cheekbones, bridge of the nose, brow bone, cupid’s bow and even the inner corner of the eyes. Avoid using any highlighter on the textured areas of your skin (areas with breakouts etc). For people with dry skin, adding drops of liquid illuminator or shimmering primer in the foundation can help. Make sure you a use cream-based highlighter to achieve that super-hydrated look. You may also spray MAC Prep + Prime Fix+ (Rs 1,800) to lock in all that awesomeness!”

2. Rehat Brar believes that contouring is the key to achieve a flawless dewy look…
“ Well scrubbed and moisturized skin is the key to achieve this look. I then start with the Mac Strobe Cream (Rs 2,950) as a primer. For foundation, use any highly pigmented liquid concealer with a duo fibre brush. My current favourite is Shape Tape concealer by Tarte (Rs 6,769) and the MAC Duo fibre brush. I only use a little loose powder to set the under eye area for it to keep from creasing. If it’s a nighttime look, I finish with the Mac Mineralize Skinfinish Soft and Gentle (Rs 2,600) on the high points like the cheekbones and brow area for added illumination. For a daytime look, I prefer the Nars Blush in Orgasm (Rs 1,885) to add a much needed colour to the face. If you want to splurge on a high end illuminator, then I’d suggest the Tom Ford Illuminating Primer and the Traceless Perfecting Foundation. It’s my absolute favourite combination to achieve a dewy glow!”

3. Simran Kalra suggests you understand the difference between dewy and greasy before going for an illuminated look!
“The first step to dewy makeup is prepping the skin. I like to use Becca’s Backlight Filter Face Primer on a freshly washed and well moisturized face. For good coverage, a few drops of foundation such as Chanel Vitalumiere (Rs 3,696) mixed with MAC Strobe Cream gives a wonderful glow to the face. I then use a loose powder like Laura Mercier’s translucent powder (Rs 2,730) to set the areas that tend to crease. Becca’s Champagne Pop is one of my favourite highlighters, and I use it on the inner corner of the eyes, on the cheekbones, the cupid’s bow and tip of the nose. Girls with oily skin should avoid too much highlighter! There’s a fine line between dewy and greasy!”

4. Anchal Batra Joshi says that the foremost step to a dewy look is CTM (cleansing, toning and moisturizing)
“For a perfectly dewy skin, the first and foremost step is CTM (cleansing, toning and moisturizing) Make sure you take extra care of the dry areas of the skin and moisturize them religiously. After following the basic routine of makeup i.e prep and prime, colour correcting and concealing, you can add a maximum of 2 to 3 drops of oil in your foundation to help it look flawless and natural. The oil could be Farsali, Indulgeo Essentials, jojoba oil, pumpkin seed oil, Clarins Oil (Rs 2,567), The Glow Enhancer Oil from Elcie, among others. The next step is to lock in the moisture with very minimal powder. For a nice dewy effect, one can also use liquid highlighters such as Makeup Revolution (Rs 765), Kiko Milano Highlighting Drops, among others. A few things to keep in mind for a dewy look is to always use a hydrating primer, a luminous foundation for that added sheen, a velvet stick for that flawless soft contour and finally, a cream blush and a setting spray to hold on all of that makeup for hours!”

5. Monika Chopra swears by colour correctors for a perfect dewy look
“For an ideal dewy look, the skin needs to be cleansed and moisturized properly. If you have any textured areas, it’s important to treat them with a color corrector as it hides all the imperfections and creates a flawless base. The MAC Studio Finish Skin Corrector (Rs 3,650) does this job very well. A good foundation is the base of a great make-up look. For a dewy effect, I prefer using Giorgio Armani’s Luminous Silk (Rs 11,558), Shiseido and the Chanel Foundation range. They give an impressive yet subtle base. For your blush to stay on longer, an even patting of it in circular motions on the cheeks with compact or powder is a must. I especially like the Nars blush in Orgasm (Rs 4,828). For the sheen, I prefer using Benefit’s Girl Meets Liquid Pearl Luminizer (Rs 2,242) as it offers just the right amount of glow to the face.”

6. Sahibba Anand suggests working on those dark circles using a concealer FIRST and then doing everything else later!
“For a fresh dewy look, it’s essential to cover any evidence of puffiness and dark circles around the eye area. Sure, any good concealer will do the trick, but you don’t want it to look like you have layers of makeup on the face! The Bobbi Brown’s liquid corrector serum in Dark Peach (Rs 2,650) is the bomb! It not only corrects the dark circles, but the serum helps get rid of the bags under the eyes as well. Also, a good moisturizing foundation with an SPF is a must. My favourite is the Liquid Foundation by Bobbi Brown (Rs 4,750) as it is super light and dewy yet has great coverage! After that is done, gently brush a good HD powder (try Laura Mercier’s translucent loose setting powder) to give a soft finish to the face. The right highlighter can make all the difference! My favourite is the Beige Highlighter Brick by Bobbi Brown (Rs 3,350). Apply it on the high points of your face and a tiny bit along your collarbone to finish off this glamourous look!”
