After three long years of being cooped inside, I finally booked a direct, nine-hour long flight to my favourite city in the world–London. But all my vacay excitement came crashing down when I realised that it clashed with the first day of my menstrual cycle. Now, periods aren’t particularly kind to me. From cramps to heavy bleeding, I go through it all during the shark-week. So thinking about travelling during this time sent chills down my spine. How will I freshen up in the airplane cubicle? How will I deal with my cramping situation? I couldn’t help but overthink the whole thing.
Surprisingly, it didn’t pan out as horribly as I had imagined. I was able to survive it all. Thanks to these four products from Sirona’s intimate and toilet hygiene range. I took them along in the flight and trust me, they made my flying experience during periods feel like a breeze. Check them out:
The Sirona Menstrual Cup
I’ve been a cup gal ever since I tried the Sirona Menstrual Cup a year ago. The cup keeps me comfy and prevents dampness. But I still had nerves about emptying and cleaning the cup in the plane’s cramped cubicle. I was in for a surprise. I didn’t have to empty/change my L-size cup for the entire duration of the flight. There was no cleaning/changing involved until after I landed at Heathrow.
The Sirona Feminine Pain Relief Patch
I walked into the flight with this sleek pain-relief patch stuck to my lower abdomen. Its natural ingredients like menthol and eucalyptus oil provided instant pain relief. Honestly, it felt like a balm was being applied and reapplied in autopilot mode during the entire duration of 10 hours. It really did take the edge off my period cramps. I kid you not, the patch stayed effective till I walked out of the Heathrow airport and stepped on the British soil!
Sirona’s Natural Intimate Wet Wipes
These alcohol-free wet wipes infused with fruit and plant extracts came in really handy while relieving myself in the plane’s loo. The wipes left my intimate area squeeky clean and gave an instant feel-good factor. The brand promises to do the job without disturbing the natural pH of the sensitive genital skin. So, I guess, I had nothing to worry about.
The PeeBuddy Waterproof Toilet Seat Covers By Sirona
The PeeBuddy range of toilet hygiene products from Sirona features some great products to help you use public washrooms safely. The Waterproof Toilet Seat Covers from this collection was a real saviour during my time in the airplane. It helped me use the cubicle without creating a bloody mess. While the menstrual cup already did a great job at preventing any leakages, I spread the cover on the toilet seat for extra safety. It prevented direct contact with the toilet seat and kept me safe from infections. After use, I just flushed these biodegradable sheets to dispose them off guilt-free.
If it wasn’t for these products, my journey wouldn’t have been a comfortable, pain-free one. If you too happen to be travelling on your period, do carry these products for a fuss-free ride.
