Experts On How Brides-To-Be Can Increase Their Immunity!
At a time when the entire world is dealing with coronavirus, it is necessary to take extra precautions to protect yourself from any kind of infections, and that’s why you need a strong immune system.
Boost Your Immunity With These Healthy Recipes
After operating a delivery model for three years in Mumbai, Bangalore and Pune, DJ-turned-entrepreneur Gurmeet Arora is all set to open a health food cafe in Mumbai, FLAX: Healthy Living.
Gurmeet said, “Indian women in particular, are susceptible to developing certain deficiencies – like Iron, Vitamin D, Vitamin A, B-Complex, and Zinc – from their diet and lifestyle. And with the current crisis, we should all aim to make healthier eating choices with the goal of supporting your vitamin intake, gut health, and immunity. At the end of the day, eating a nutritious meal doesn’t have to be a chore”.
He gave us three superfoods recipes that you can swear by to increase your immunity:
1. Turmeric Latte
Turmeric Latte is the perfect substitute for your morning cup of coffee. Turmeric is rich in curcumin, a compound that can help moderate the immune response with its powerful anti-inflammatory effects. The addition of black pepper in the coffee further boosts the absorption of turmeric in the body.
FLAX
Ingredients: Turmeric powder (1 tbsp)
Espresso shot (30 ml)
Honey (1 tbsp)
Almond milk or milk of choice (1 cup)
Cinnamon and black pepper (1 pinch)
How to make it: Blend the turmeric powder and espresso shot with milk in a mixer. Pour into a glass and add honey as a sweetener. Top with a pinch of cinnamon and black pepper. To make it into a wholesome breakfast smoothie bowl, you can add some whole grain oats and banana to this latte and voila!
2. Nutriboost Smoothie
This simple nutrient-dense smoothie is low in calories and is rich in iron, magnesium, potassium, and antioxidants. It takes less than 5 minutes to prepare and requires only three common household ingredients. Isn’t this great?
Ingredients: Dates (1/4 cup)
1 Banana
Almond milk (3/4 cups)
How to make it: Chop the banana and dates into small pieces and add them to a blender with almond milk. Blend all the ingredients until it reaches a thick liquid consistency, and your healthy smoothie is ready.
3. Metaboost Salad
The Metaboost salad is full of antioxidants and vitamins that keep your immune system strong. The salad is also rich in Vitamin B6 that helps in relieving the symptoms of anaemia.

– Eat healthy and make sure that you are giving your body as much as vitamins as possible, especially Vitamin A, C and D. Include veggies like kale and spinach and fruits like orange, mango and strawberry in your diet for Vitamins A and C. For Vitamin D, she suggested exposing your body to the sunlight before 9 am.
– Start and end your day with a glass of warm water with a few drops of lemon in it.
– Pranayam works wonders for your body. It will improve the blood and energy flow in the body.
– Get a good night’s sleep.
– Go for green juices as they will not only help in boosting immunity, they will also give you a glowing skin.
– Even though we might have a lot of free time at our hands due to the lockdown, try to control your screen time. As a bride-to-be, you don’t wanna crazy dark circles, right!?
– Indulge in some flirting with your fiancé every now and then. Healthy flirting releases a chemical called serotonin, which is also called the happy chemical as it contributes to wellbeing and happiness.
Along with the above recipes and tips, do not forget to give your body a good workout sesh for at least 30 mins every day. And do not take stress, brides. You will have your dream wedding, just gotta give it some time.
