Hina Khan & 7 Other Desi Divas Who Graced The Cannes Red Carpet In Head-Turning Styles
The second day of the Cannes Film Festival 2022 was really something! There were so many Indian celebs in attendance that the film festival could have passed off as the IIFA awards. But jokes apart, India has been registering a compelling presence at Cannes. The credit goes to the desi fashionistas who aren’t leaving any stones unturned to make an impression. While we have shared deets about Deepika Padukone and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s outfits from Day 2, here are eight Indian divas who made heads turn:
Hina Khan In Rami Al Ali
Never the one to disappoint, actress Hina Khan kickstarted her Cannes 2022 innings in Rami Al Ali. The pleated beauty featured an accordion skirt and a draped, off-shoulder bodice. We love everything about this outfit–from the jewel hue to those intricate pleats. The gown is letting Hina’s personality shine without overpowering it and that’s exactly why it gets a thumbs up from us.
Tamannaah Bhatia In YANINA Couture
We love drama and Tamannaah’s Day 2 outfit has oodles of it. Let’s maybe begin with the risqué gown. The form fitting-silhouette has our approval and so does the exaggerated slit. We absolutely LOVE the actress’s sheer cap and maybe a more subtle neckline would have paired better with it.
Helly Shah In Ziad Nakad
Actress Helly Shah in her ice-blue Ziad Nakad is currently reminding the internet of Frozen’s Elsa and we see the resemblance. She also reminds us of Hina Khan’s Cannes red carpet debut in 2019. The defined shoulders, the cape sleeves, the plunging neck—it’s all there and we aren’t complaining. This is a charming look and Helly looks pretty in her neat bun and statement eyes.
Pooja Hegde In Maison Geyanna Youness
In France do as the French do. But not on the red carpet. We do not hate Pooja’s look. In fact, we find it quite charming. Unfortunately, there’s nothing in there that we haven’t seen before. Feathers? Done. Larger than life flounces? Done to death! The off-shoulder gown looks stunning on the actress and her makeup is on point as well. But it does not stand out and that’s why we have our reservations.
Masoom Minawala In Yousef Akbar
Fashion blogger and influencer Masoom Minwala seems to be obsessed with hot pink this year at Cannes and we are feeling it. Her Yousef Akbar is a delight to look at. Well, we are pretty sure it would be trending right now had one of the B-town A-listers opted for it. The billowy gown lends it a fresh appeal and there’s rarely an occasion when we do not approve of dramatic trails. We love the bow detail on Masoom’s gown as well as the Swarovski choker and studs that fit just right.
Malvika Sitlani In Milia London
We love the fresh coral hue of Malvika’s Milia London outfit and the fact that she went for a co-ord set instead of the obvious gown. The sea of ruffles adds to the fun factor and Malvika’s gold eyes work like the cherry on the cake. The digital creator & YouTuber has killed it.
Diipa Khosla In Manish Malhotra
We love seeing Indian designers on international red carpets and this saree is the shiz. Fashion and beauty influencer, Diipa’s look was styled by the designer himself and he chose to pair the chikankari saree with his plunge neck signature blouse. The fusion of Indian handicrafts and contemporary aesthetics is killer here. It’s giving a classic glamm vibe and we are impressed!
Tarini Peshawaria In Ambika Lal at Cannes
Digital Creator & YouTuber Tarini Peshawaria’s red carpet look is proof that sometimes simplicity works on the red carpet as well as the drama. Her baby blue gown is gorg but it is the skin work and hair that elevate the look. The no-makeup makeup look and the soft curls both work in sync to make Tarini’s look stand out.
So, tell us peeps, which one of these red carpet looks did you like the most?
