Weren’t most of us taking all the COVID-19 scares a little too casually until we started hearing news of celebrities testing positive for the virus? Not too surprising that, it was only after the world realised that literally no one is saved from the pandemic that all of us finally began to take the health advisory seriously. But have we been serious enough?
As the novel coronavirus continues to spread like wildfire with no cure for the same, we think it’s imperative that we take a look at all the celebrities who have been tested positive with COVID-19. The need right now is to realise is literally no one is immune from the virus and thus to understand that social isolation is the biggest favour that you can do to yourself as well as to those around you in this moment of crisis. Thus, with no further ado, here’s a list of all the celebrities who have been tested positive and have been constantly urging the world to take responsibility and practice isolation:
Kristofer Hivju
Kristofer Hivju or Tormund, as you know him from popular TV show Game of Thrones, took to Instagram yesterday to reveal that he has been tested positive for COVID-19. He also shared that he along with his family would be thus be “self-isolating at home for as long as it takes.” In the Insta caption he also gave a quick health update as he wrote, “[My family and I] are in good health. I only have mild symptoms of a cold.”
The actor further urged everyone to take precautions and follow all the necessary steps so as to keep themselves and as those at higher risk safe. “There are people at higher risk for who this virus might be a devastating diagnosis, so I urge all of you to be extremely careful; wash your hands, keep 1.5 meters distance from others, go in quarantine; just do everything you can to stop the virus from spreading. Together we can fight this virus and avert a crisis at our hospitals. Please take care of each other, keep your distance, and stay healthy,” the actor wrote.
Idris Elba
Earlier this week, movie maven Idris Elba revealed through a Twitter video that he has been also tested positive for COVID-19. While Elba had no symptoms, he revealed that he got tested after realising that he had been in contact with “someone” who had been tested positive for the virus. “This morning I tested positive for Covid 19,” Elba wrote in the caption of the twitter video posted by him on Monday. He wrote, “I feel ok, I have no symptoms so far but have been isolated since I found out about my possible exposure to the virus. Stay home people and be pragmatic.”
Elba has given us a great example of taking responsibility for oneself as well as others in the times of this pandemic. He also shared health updates in another Twitter video on Wednesday morning. ” “Right now though I am feeling OK. Woke up this morning, didn’t have any symptoms. My voice is a little bit tired, I just didn’t sleep that well. Still don’t have any symptoms, checking fever twice a day, and feel good, feel OK,” shared Elba.
Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson
Actor couple Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson broke the news of them testing positive for COVID-19 last week from Australia. “We felt a bit tired, like we had colds, and some body aches. Rita had some chills that came and went. Slight fevers too. To play things right, as is needed in the world right now, we were tested for the Coronavirus, and were found to be positive,” Hanks wrote on Instagram.
Hanks also appealed his followers to take necessary coronavirus precautions and responsibility in the troubled times as he wrote, “There are those for whom it could lead to a very serious illness. We are taking it one-day-at-a-time. There are things we can all do to get through this by following the advice of experts and taking care of ourselves and each other, no?”
Rudy Gobert
Rudy Gobert was tested positive for the coronavirus last week too. The NBA player posted an apology on Twitter feeling guilty for everyone he might have risked by coming in contact with them. “I was careless and I make no excuse. I hope my story serves as a warning and causes everyone to take this seriously,” he wrote.

She added, “I really would love to help in any way I can. Again, let’s please be mindful of our decisions—now is the time to be smart and responsible. Let’s take care of one another!!”
