You put on your stylish pair of sunglasses, and shoot, the makeup is already transferring. Yeah, we’ve all been there. But, thankfully there are plenty of fail-safe tips to lock in the makeup even when wearing shades. So if you want to have a perfect face at your sunglasses-ready brunch, keep scrolling to find the step-by-step guide to prevent your makeup from sliding off your nose.

PS: The technique does take a little bit of extra time, but it’s worth it for folks who can’t live without their shades.

The Complete Guide To Prevent Your Makeup From Sliding Off Your Nose When Wearing Sunglasses

Step 1: Eye Primer FTW!

First things first: take an eye primer, make sure you’re using the one without pigment. All you need to do is press it on the sides of your nose, targeting areas where the sunglasses make contact with your skin. We recommend using a lightweight summer-friendly primer that doesn’t feel too heavy on the skin and hydrates and imparts a glow to it while keeping your makeup intact for a longer duration.

Step 2: Conceal It!

Next, apply a concealer or a foundation on top of the primer and blend that in for a natural and seamless look. We recommend using a lightweight foundation or a concealer to create a skin-like base. You can also avoid the mishap of melting makeup by skipping foundation altogether. Instead, you can dot the concealer in specific places of your face and blend it out using a small fluffy brush.

Step 3: The Power Duo

Now grab your makeup sponge and setting spray. All you have to do is: soak the makeup sponge in a long-lasting setting spray and dab it along the areas you’ve applied the products to. We recommend using a setting spray that not only gives you long-lasting makeup but also imparts a glowy, dewy look to your skin.

Step 4: Use A Setting Powder

Then, grab your go-to makeup setting powder and take a little amount on the makeup sponge. Pack it over the top and let it marinate for a couple of minutes. We recommend keeping it on for at least 5 to 8 minutes before brushing off the excess powder.

Step 5: Prep Your Glasses

If you’re exacting, just like us, wipe down the pads of your sunglasses with alcohol and apply more powder on top and get ready to turn heads with a makeup look that stays put from a.m. to p.m.
