About the Couple
Niti was born in Nov 1994 to a Gujarati father and a Bengali-Christian mother. She made her acting debut at the age of 15 with Pyaar Ka Bandhan in 2009 but rose to fame with Kaisi Yeh Yaariaan. She recently essayed the role of Prachi Gupta in Bade Acche Lagte Hain 2.
On the other hand, Parikshit is an Indian Army Officer and was born in Gurgaon, Haryana. His father, Mohit Bawa, is a retired army officer and his mother, Aneeta Sood Bawa, is a teacher.
Childhood Friends
Niti and Parikshit have known each other since their school days. But there’s a twist! Niti went to an all-girls school whereas Prakishit was from an all-boys school. Their paths crossed during an inter-school fest organised by Niti’s school. The best bit? Parikshit’s mother was Niti’s class teacher. After meeting at the fest, they connected through a social media platform called Orkut. However, after a while, Niti left for Bangalore and that was it for the couple.
How It Began
Years later in 2018, the two reconnected via Instagram. By that time, Niti was already a household name. While scrolling through ‘Gram, Prakshit unexpectedly got a reply from Niti to a text that he had sent years ago. During the conversation, Niti revealed she likes stalking her old friends and reconnecting with them. Niti and Parikshit continued talking for four-fives months before deciding to meet IRL. Meanwhile, Niti’s family also stalked Pariskhit’s profile and instantly fell in love with his charming smile and personality. They even told Niti to marry him ASAP!
Then They Took The Plunge
After dating for a few months, Niti and Parikshit got engaged in 2019. Then in Oct 2020, Niti stunned her fans by sharing pictures and videos from her wedding with the caption, “My journey from Miss to Mrs is complete. I’d like to share with all my well-wishers that I tied the knot with Parikshit on 13 August 2020. And we had a very small, quiet, and intimate wedding with just our parents, aka, Covid wedding.”
Interestingly, Prakshit used to tell his friends and family that he’ll never get married. After meeting Niti, he decided to take the plunge. Whereas Niti never wanted to marry someone from showbiz. She once shared, “I have always said that I will not marry someone from showbiz. I am happy that I am getting married to a man of my parents’ and my choice.”
