Ace filmmaker Karan Johar recently announced his upcoming directorial Takht that has the most magnificent cast possible. The film stars Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal, Anil Kapoor and Bhumi Pednekar.
The star cast was as excited as Karan that they all unveiled the poster of the film on their respective Instagram handles.
This is the first time Karan is venturing into the historical drama domain. Known for making his celebs look phenomenal beyond words in all his films, this one has the fans’ interest-piquing on another level. KJo has a great camaraderie with most in the industry and only he could have brought such a stellar cast to work together in one film.

1. Anil Kapoor As Mughal King Shah Jahan
Anil Kapoor will be seen essaying the role of Mughal emperor Shah Jahan, who is remembered for his architectural achievements. The most competent of all Mughal kings, Shah Jahan is best known for the Taj Mahal in Agra, which entombs his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal.
2. Ranveer Singh As Dara Shikoh
Ranveer Singh has proved his mettle in all three Sanjay Leela Bhansali films exhibiting to be an apt choice for any kingly/princely role. He will be seen playing the role of Dara Shikoh, the eldest son of Shah Jahan.
3. Alia Bhatt As Nadira Banu Begum
With how versatile Alia Bhatt is, she’ll be essaying the role of Nadira Banu Begum, the first cousin and wife of Dara Shikoh, who’s being played by Ranveer.
4. Vicky Kaushal As Aurangzeb
I can heat you hoot! Yes, Vicky Kaushal will be seen portraying the role of the last and most vengeful Mughal emperor Aurangzeb. He put his own father, Shah Jahan under house arrest and crowned himself the king in 1658.
5. Kareena Kapoor Khan As Jahanara Begum
Can anyone look more regal and royal than Kareena Kapoor Khan? Well, that’s precisely why she’s playing the role of Jahanara Begum, the eldest daughter of Emperor Shah Jahan and his wife Mumtaz Mahal. Her power was such that, unlike the other imperial princesses, she was allowed to live in her own palace, outside the confines of the Agra Fort.
6. Bhumi Pednekar As Dilras Banu Begum
Bhumi Pednekar will be seen essaying the role of Dilras Banu Begum, the first wife and chief consort of Emperor Aurangzeb, being played by Vicky Kaushal.
