Fast-Paced City Life Or Peaceful Evenings In Small Towns? Here’s Why People Are Making The Shift
Most people I know moved to the big cities—places like Delhi, Mumbai, and Bangalore—for better opportunities and living conditions. These cities are among the top choices for those seeking growth and a fast-paced life. But once you settle into the hustle and bustle, you realise what you’re missing out on.
While these cities offer plenty of excitement and activity, what they lack is peace, quiet, and the beauty of a slower life. Days go by in a blink, and life moves at such a rapid pace that we find ourselves constantly waiting for the weekend just to catch a breath. And even that weekend slips by like a speeding train. This sentiment is now hitting home for many, who are beginning to wonder if escaping the city for a smaller town might actually be the better choice for their mental health. With basics like food and rent becoming increasingly expensive, surviving in the city is becoming more challenging by the day. And what you get in return is traffic jams, polluted air, and never-ending targets at work.
Journalist Sneha Mordani recently took to ‘X’ to ask people if they’d consider leaving the city behind to settle in a quieter, smaller town and we’re not surprised by the responses she got.
Would you rather live a quiet life in a small town or chase your dreams in the big metropolitans?
