Designer parties and shows are the holy grail for fashion gworls!
Designer duo Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla hosted a star-studded event in Mumbai to celebrate the premiere of their fashion film, Mera Noor Hai Mashoor. The biggest names attended the event, putting their best fashion foot forward. While some guests made an outstanding statement with their OOTN, others simply failed to impress.
Let’s take a look at all the fashion hits and misses from Abu Jani & Sandeep Khosla’s party:
Hits
Radhika Merchant
The newest Ambani bahu arrived in a blush pink saree. Although the ruffled pallu could’ve taken a rain check, Radhika’s ivory blouse stole the show. The blouse was embellished with sequins and tassels and featured a sweetheart neckline. Radhika’s accessorising caused more of a stir than her outfit. She wore a diamond choker and carried a baby pink Hermès Kelly bag!
Uorfi Javed
Although Uorfi‘s look may be a little too unconventional for some, it was not easy to pull off, and I believe she nailed it. She arrived in a red AJSK chiffon saree, loosely draped over a sheer illusion blouse embellished with red gemstones. Uorfi went all out with statement earrings and an OTT headgear encrusted with jewels, inspired by the Far East.
Neetu Kapoor
If elegance and grace had a love child, it would be Neetu Kapoor. She absolutely won the night in an ice blue creation from the designer duo’s eponymous label. A kurta embroidered with intricate chikankari work and sequins was paired with an asymmetric skirt. The look was completed with a heavily embroidered net dupatta, a stunning neckpiece, and matching earrings.
Shweta Bachchan Nanda
The Bachchan daughter hardly ever gets any look wrong! She stood out in a gold and beige embellished bodycon midi dress for the party. I loved how Shweta chose to cinch the dress with a metallic gold satin belt. Long dangler earrings, pointed-toe heels, and a black Chanel drawstring bag made for the perfect accessories.
Madhyama Segal
I wouldn’t be surprised if Madhyama Segal, better known as Saba from Class, becomes the next fashion youth icon! She wore an over-the-top 3D white dress adorned with lace and fur. The outfit was undoubtedly a risk, but Madhyama took it and damn, did she nail it! She completed the look with blue contrasting heels.
Misses
Nataša Stanković
While I loved Natasa’s wedding looks by Abu Jani & Sandeep Khosla, this outfit was just not it. We all know she (and the designers) are capable of much more. Her ensemble included a black net skirt and a matching dupatta embellished with ruffles and sequins. The skirt was paired with a corset-style blouse with gold tassels. Everything seemed a little too gimmicky. Definitely a miss!
Huma Qureshi
I definitely expected more from the star of Abu Jani & Sandeep Khosla’s fashion movie. Huma Qureshi‘s free-flowing ivory gown with silver sequined sleeves and a statement collar looked somewhat unflattering. The actress was wearing a silver-embellished bralette underneath, which again was a miss. Plus, the eye makeup looked a little too much.
Sussanne Khan
Sussanne Khan’s OOTN made it appear as if she was forced to attend the event. Her silver mini dress, embellished with metallic sequins and embroidered burnt orange and yellow flowers, was a lesson in what not to wear to a designer’s party. Also, the wedges should be thrown out the window immediately!
Neha Dhupia
Was Neha Dhupia wearing the dress, or was the dress wearing Neha Dhupia? Neha’s vibrant pink outfit made it difficult for me to even spot her face. For someone who’s usually so stylishly dressed, this was a major miss.
