Okay, so we all know (most of us do) that the super awaited Indian Couture Week 2017 is on in full swing! It opened yesterday with Anamika Khanna and Rohit Bal’s super awesome collection, and might we add that they had some pretty awesome new bridal trends to offer. Here’s everything that we loved from Rohit Bal’s collection. Read on…
Velvet Is Back!
So, quirky and classy as Rohit’s designs always are, he did something really unique with them this time around. He reintroduced velvet to the fashion scene. Most of his designs were extensive embroideries and zari work on solid-coloured velvets. And boy did they look royal!
Off White All The Way
Apart from solid-coloured velvet ensembles, Rohit’s collection also focused on the evergreen colour – off white! Attires in off white teamed with maroon, marsala or just monotones were quite a rage during his show. And, we loved every one of them to bits *dreamy*
Indian Motifs Are The Prettiest
Another thing that stood out in Rohit’s collection was a generous use of motifs. He used intricate embroidery, zari and zardozi work to create some stunning motifs, like peacocks, flowers etc. on his ensembles. And the fact that they were done on dark colours like black and marsala, made them stand out so much!
Cape Sleeves Are In
Cape sleeves are all the rage this season and an established designer such as Bal would not leave them out from his collection, obviously! So, we also saw a lot of cape trends gorgeously making their way into his designs.
And, How Can We Forget ARJUN RAMPAL!!
Yes, yes, this Bollywood hottie was the showstopper for Bal’s stunning collection, and man he looked so dreamy! We just couldn’t stop staring at him (full on gawking)! He wore a black velvet sherwani, which had a pretty bird motif on the upper left side. It was elegance personified.
So, this is everything we totally loved about Rohit Bal’s latest collection. For more from your favourite designers, stay tuned!
