If you have watched One Day, I am sorry for all the heartbreak. The show is basically about love and other things packed together to make you feel both longing for love, and never wanting love again. It features Ambika Mod and Leo Woodall as Emma and Dexter. The mini series is based on the novel of the same name by David Nicholls. Other than the storytelling, people are quite impressed with the casting of the main characters – it’s like they are meant for these roles. Ambika as Emma clearly has our heart.
But hey, now that we are talking about her, it’s important that we do that properly. She deserves every bit of this attention. The British actor is also a writer and comedian. She is also know for her work as Shruti Acharya in the BBC drama series This Is Going to Hurt. Ambika was born in England, where she also completed her studies at the St Mary’s College, Durham.
After her studies, she worked as a personal assistant at Condé Nast, while pursuing comedy in the evenings. Her academic background includes studies at Theatrix Performing Arts of St Albans, situated at the Abbey Theatre within the city. The actor has also worked for television in shows like The Mash Report, The B@it, Trying, This Is Going to Hurt and I Hate Suzie.
Ambika Mod has also won the Broadcasting Press Guild Awards and Royal Television Society Programme Awards for her work in This Is Going To Hurt. She will also appear as a lead in the upcoming thriller series Playdate. Her work in One Day has received critical acclaim, and the common consensus is that we love her.
