My Essential Guide On How To Use Face Scrubs The Right Way

If you’re wondering how to use face scrubs for glowing skin, I got you covered. When done right, exfoliation will help clear up gunk and dead skin cells and bring back the skin’s natural radiance.

Here’s a step-by-step guide that will help you understand exactly how to use face scrubs. I follow this method whenever I need to exfoliate my skin. It keeps my skin clear and healthy with a natural glow.

Cleanse With Face Wash First

I always use a face wash before using a face scrub because it helps remove surface impurities and allows the face scrub to get rid of the deeper-rooted impurities in the next step.

The Organic Vitamin B Face Wash is a gentle cleanser that effectively cleans my skin without stripping it of moisture.

Dot The Scrub On Skin

Then I apply dots of the face scrub all over my face. The St. Botanica Arabica Coffee Face Scrub gently exfoliates my skin and removes impurities.

Massage Gently

Next, I spread the scrub across my face, and massage it in circular motions, focusing on my cheeks, chin, forehead, nose, and the crevices at the sides of my nostrils.

Avoid Contact With Eyes

Avoid letting the scrub enter your eyes. If some product does get into my eyes, I rinse it with water immediately and use a paper towel to help remove any particles.

Rinse With Water

Once done massaging, I rinse my face with lukewarm water. Make sure to use enough water to wash away all the gritty particles of the scrub from the skin. Then, I pat my skin dry.

Swipe On A Toner

Toning my skin is absolutely necessary after using a face scrub. This is because my pores may seem enlarged due to the exfoliation process. A toner helps reduce the appearance of my pores and balances my skin’s pH levels so that it doesn’t produce excess oil.

The Aloe Vera, Green Tea & Cucumber Face Toner hydrates and soothes my acne-prone skin.

Moisturise

After using a face scrub, I moisturise with a face cream that suits my skin type. Moisturising helps prevent moisture loss and also soothes the skin after exfoliation.

The Bulgarian Rose Otto Glow Day Cream SPF 30 makes my skin plump and protects it from the sun!

When To Use Face Scrub

Using a face scrub daily is not advisable as it can damage the skin. Since my skin leans towards being oily and acne prone, I use a face scrub twice a week in the summers and only once a week in the winters. Face scrubs for sensitive skin are gentler and can be used twice a week without causing any damage. Face scrubs for dry skin will help make the skin soft in winters. I like to make a DIY coffee scrub for face in the hot seasons as it is more gritty and helps remove tan from my skin.

This guide on how to use face scrubs is what I follow to ensure my skin is exfoliated and healthy all year round.
