Give Me Love! 10 Songs By Birthday Boy Ed Sheeran That Are ‘Perfect’ For The Romantic Soul

Who doesn’t like or wait… rather LOVE Ed Sheeran’s songs? From celebrities like Virat Kohli-Anushka Sharma who played Thinking Out Loud on their engagement to all the commoners like us– there is absolutely nobody who doesn’t relate to or crush over Sheeran’s songs. The British singer turns 29 today and we thought it would be the best time to compile a list of his most beautiful songs for you to have on your playlist.

But, before that, a little about Sheeran and his epic journey in the world of music. The singer first gained attention for his hit 2011 song, The A Team. Later in 2016, his single Thinking Out Loud earned him two Grammy Awards for Song of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance. His 2017 album, Divide was a smashing hit and it has been a glorious story for the singer, ever since.

Well, coming back to his songs and their lyrics that strike a chord with everyone, here are my top picks:

Perfect

‘Baby, I’m dancing in the dark with you between my arms
Barefoot on the grass, listening to our favourite song
When you said you looked a mess, I whispered underneath my breath
But you heard it, darling, you look perfect tonight.’

Happier

‘Cause baby you look happier, you do
My friends told me one day I’ll feel it too
And until then I’ll smile to hide the truth
But I know I was happier with you…’

Give Me Love

‘Give a little time to me or burn this out
We’ll play hide and seek to turn this around
All I want is the taste that your lips allow
My, my, my, my, oh give me love…’

Thinking Out Loud

‘So honey now
Take me into your loving arms
Kiss me under the light of a thousand stars
Place your head on my beating heart
I’m thinking out loud
Maybe we found love right where we are’

Bloodstream

‘I’ve been looking for a lover
Thought I’d find her in a bottle
God, make me another one
I’ll be feeling this tomorrow
Lord forgive me for the things I’ve done
I was never meant to hurt no one
I saw scars upon a broken-hearted lover’

Kiss Me

‘Kiss me like you wanna be loved
You wanna be loved
You wanna be loved
This feels like falling in love
Falling in love
We’re falling in love
Settle down with me
And I’ll be your safety
You’ll be my lady…’

Photograph

‘Loving can hurt, loving can hurt sometimes
But it’s the only thing that I know
When it gets hard, you know it can get hard sometimes
It is the only thing that makes us feel alive
We keep this love in a photograph
We made these memories for ourselves…’

I See Fire

‘Now I see fire
Inside the mountain
And I see fire
Burning the trees
And I see fire
Hollowing souls
And I see fire
Blood in the breeze
And I hope that you remember me…’

Shape Of You

‘Your love was handmade for somebody like me
Come on now, follow my lead
I may be crazy, don’t mind me
Say, boy, let’s not talk too much
Grab on my waist and put that body on me
Come on now, follow my lead
Come, come on now, follow my lead
I’m in love with the shape of you…’

Galway Girl

‘You know, she played the fiddle in an Irish band
But she fell in love with an English man
Kissed her on the neck and then I took her by the hand
Said, “Baby, I just wanna dance”
With my pretty little Galway girl
You’re my pretty little Galway girl…’

Which one of these is your favourite?
