The rainy season is slowly but surely settling in and my skin is already acting up. When it rains, the humidity levels get much higher and it affects the skin, leading to breakouts. Since we are transitioning from summer to monsoon, breakouts are common. But they don’t have to be painful too.
So if you’re trying to avoid pimples like me, these DIYs for pimples are what you should try to keep your skin in check.
To Deep Clean Your Pores
Your pores need to be cleared of dirt, grime, and impurities for pimples to stay away. This DIY mask uses a tablespoon each of green tea, rice flour, and curd, and the paste needs to be kept on the skin for a good 15 to 20 minutes after which it should be rinsed off with water.
Rice flour will gently exfoliate the skin while green tea will detoxify the skin and keep the pores clean and fresh. Curd on the other hand is super soothing and helps reduce blemishes thanks to its lactic acid content.
To Ice Out Pimples
When large pimples occur, this ice cube face pack works like a dream to bring the situation under control. Mix a tablespoon of aloe vera gel with a teaspoon of honey and a quarter teaspoon of haldi powder. Then add it to an ice tray and freeze it to form ice cubes. Massage this on your face and focus on the pimples. Wash it off after 10 minutes.
This natural ingredient infused ice cube face pack will instantly soothe your skin and your pimples will reduce in size. Haldi has antiseptic properties and so does honey. Both are used as a natural pimple treatments. Aloe vera is hydrating and controls excess oil production.
To Heal Breakouts
If you have been struggling with acne for a while and you can’t catch a break, this ayurvedic ubtan face pack is just what you need. Mix a tablespoon each of gram flour and curd with a pinch of turmeric and coffee powder. Apply the paste on your face and rinse it off after 20 minutes.
This DIY face mask will help brighten your skin and get rid of pimples and acne scars. Gram flour is great for oily skin and curd is hydrating and soothing on acne. Turmeric helps heal pimples as it can stop bleeding and it also has antiseptic and antibacterial properties.
To Get Squeaky Clean Skin
If you want to reset your skin and stop it from experiencing breakouts this monsoon, use this face pack once a week along with a daily CTM routine. Mix a tablespoon each of curd, orange peel powder, kasturi turmeric powder, and multani mitti and apply the paste on your skin. Rinse it off once it dries and follow up with moisturiser.
Orange peel powder is great to exfoliate, clear up acne, and brighten the skin. Curd is soothing on acne and kasturi turmeric helps heal acne and keep your skin free of acne causing bacteria. Multani mitti is a boon for oily skin and it will prevent breakouts from occuring.
It’s super important to try out these DIYs on clean skin. Use a gentle face cleanser like the MyGlamm SUPERFOODS Watermelon & Raspberry Face Wash before applying a DIY face pack.
After you’ve washed off the DIY face pack, always ensure you moisturise so that your skin is protected from pollution and impurities that can cause acne. My go-to moisturiser for acne prone skin is the Manish Malhotra Amla Moisturising Gel.
Try out these effective DIY face packs for healing pimples this monsoon and thank me later.
