Diwali is just around the corner and you know what that means: genda phool everywhere, rangoli, taash, and lots of cheer. Yes, this year will be a little different since none of the regular Diwali parties seem to be happening and the festival will be a bit more personal but that doesn’t mean it’s any less special. We can still order fancy new Indian clothes online, practice desi makeup looks, and have loads of mithai.
One thing that always gets us into a good mood is doing our nails and since going to the salon is risky at the moment, we thought we’d bring some inspiration to you. Since sparkles and patakhas are a thing of the past (we hope), these glittery nail art designs will be the shine you need during the festive season.
A Sparkly Rose Quartz Design
Rose quartz nails are all the rage right now and they are the perfect way to add some colour to your nails while also staying on-trend. The stone is all about positivity and connecting to your inner self and at the end of the day, that’s what you want during the festivities.
All That Glitters Is Gold
These nails are obviously extensions but you can always get this done on your real nails too. Put clear polish to the nails and add gold specs and gold nail paint to the tips. If you want to make it easier, you can even go with a gold French manicure because it’s a colour that goes well with loads of Indian ensembles.
Picking The Auspicious Colours
Orange is a colour that is very auspicious during Diwali and we see it everywhere: the diyas, the marigold flowers, and even in our rangolis. So why not add it to our nails as well. If you have decided to wear a more neutral colour for the puja, choosing brighter shades for the makeup and nails is a great idea.
A Li’l Mix And Match
Who said we can’t mix our metals? This nail art design looks stunning and well put together. If you don’t want to go glitter crazy and paint all your nails sparkly then you can do something like half neutral matte and a couple of fingers like these. This will make the metallics stand out even more.
Let’s Get Glam
These copper nails are everything you need during the festival of lights. There’s drama, there’s glitter and it screams fun! This is another shade that goes well with Indian ensembles because a lot of them tend to have a border or piping of this hue. Put on some jhumkis and add a bindi and voila, you’re ready!
